Nice At First
The Subaru Outback is a great car off the show room floor. The vehicle is reliability and requires the standard maintenance. Overall as this car ages, parts break and constant repairs are the order of the day. Driving this car is a joy, but then again over time, you will tire of the ride.

Pretty good family car
I will start with the cons. As a parent with a child in a car seat, I am frustrated by the design of the back door frame. It angles in such a way that makes it difficult to lean in to put a baby in a car seat. Particularly in a rear facing car seat. Another door issue I have with my outback is that the metal frame does not go around the window. This has created a lot of air noise in the car on the drivers side while driving due to the seal being moved from the flexing of the window when you close the car door. We have also had to have several expensive repairs done in the year that we have owned this Outback. These repairs included replacing the head gadget and the catalytic converter. There are many pros to this Outback as well. I love the hatchback. As a mom who loves to hike I have a special stroller that is fairly large. This stroller fits beautifully in the back and is easy to get in and out with the hatchback door. My outback had a sunroof that I love to use for sunny days. The engine performs well driving through the mountains in our area of Washington state.
