The car I desire to ride
After driving all types of cars for almost ten years in India and abroad, I was really impressed with the new Swift diesel. I planned to buy a new Swift diesel, hence I tested not just the test car, but went ahead to book a car from Avis rental agency to self drive—to get the real feel and the actual pros/cons. The Swift I got had 18,250 Km under four months—so, it's indeed a real test, and it's going to reveal the truth. First impression: No big difference except for loose electrical brake light. I didn't find any major hiccups!! Performance was same as new/engine sound was the same! Power: Throughout, the distribution is good—clocked speeds up to 170 KM/hr. without hassle! The pickup is very good—so in city, you can very well stay ahead in traffic lights. Handling: Once on the highway, the handling is much better in corners than the Vxi model even—because of the extra engine weight, it added to better handling. If you have the factory-fitted tires—don't worry getting off the road for a kick off!! Whereas, if you have changed to high-rated rubbers, take care—it can drag you around when driven at speeds in mud, especially when wet. (later gives a better ride though—so it's your choice and depends on the way you want to drive). Ride: Is good not great—the competitive Getz gives a better ride though! But, nowhere stands to SWIFT when comes to handling. In short—it's a driver's car! Mileage: However bad you drive, you can manage a decent 12.5 KM /liters!! When my dad drove, he could get a comfortable 17-18 KM. Interiors: The windows are a bit different in the way it's done, meaning if you are fond of resting your right hand on the window pane and then rest on steering, you will have a tough time!! The window sills are surprisingly high. It's a small thing, but for the real spirited driver, he has to change his style of driving if he has one. And if you're less than 5 ft. 6, think it over. Just sit on the driver seat and check your all-around visibility before you go ahead (my friend said so. I, being 6 ft., didn't have any probs). Dashboards are simple and nice. Nothing great and nothing bad. Neither are outdated or too futuristic! Exteriors: Nicely well crafted. But the steel is not that great. There are dents in the bonnet and petrol lid alignments are common, if you're not careful. Overall, weighing the pros and cons, I'm impressed. I have booked a Swift Vdi ABS version but still shifting dealers as waiting period is too high.

Great value.
I love the feeling of the cloth seats. Being so low to the ground makes it interesting to get in and out of. The feeling of taking corners with it is amazing. I'll never forget the feeling of power-sliding around country roads like a rally car. It always makes a weird sound when I start it up, but that's because of its age .I really like beating everyone off the line at stop lights. When I need to fill it up I can do so for less than $30. If I had the money, and could find others, I'd buy three.

Not a good choice
This vehicle is a hatchback 4 cylinder car. This car is pretty good on acceleration but is slow to get to highway speeds. It also vibrates a lot at higher speeds. There is not a lot of room in the front back or trunk. It does get pretty good fuel economy of around 30 MPG. It is also very affordable at around 6000 I would not recommend this vehicle.
