Reliable with Maintenance
Overall there are several key things that make the Escape stand out to me. The amount of room in the interior is great, from the wide bench seat to the large storage in the back. It's got a hatch back trunk which is perfect for families with pets because you can't leave them in the trunk! The driver's seat adjusts three ways, perfect for accommodating couples of different heights, and the onboard computer is very user friendly for entertainment, climate control, and diagnostics.

After 3 trucks I really like this car
This is my first car after 22 years of driving trucks. The ride is great, very smooth and easy to handle. The cargo space is comparable to the small truck that I had before purchasing this car. I know that it's listed as an SUV but it's part of the new breed of cars called crossovers. I prefer to think of them as updated station wagons. There is seating for 5 people (if they don't mind being crowded in the back seat) and lots of space for carrying items in the back. When you put the back seats down you have even more space. I carried home a recliner chair in the back of the car from the store. It fit fine. When you do put the back seats down there is a lip where the seats are instead of a flat area in the back but it doesn't really affect the storage capacity. The standard driving options are all available in the basic model, and a lot have been incorporated into fingertip panels on the steering wheel. Very convenient. There are several electronic connections for powering your electronic gizmos and there's even a plug in for charging items that don't power up from the UPC adapters. Some are located in the storage area between the front seats and others with the plug in are in a covered panel behind the front seats. You will need to get that set up before you climb into the drivers seat. You cannot reach it from there. Overall this is a nice car with lots of nice features, going with the higher end packages gives you even more features but the basic model is still pretty swell.
