My Ford Fusion was a spur of the moment buy that I do not regret. It has all the features that I could ever ask for, and it's not even a new car. It has a charging port, it has a sunroof, it has aux and Bluetooth. The seats are firm but not firm enough where they would cause discomfort. It is also very spacious so you don't feel like you are being suffocated by the car while you drive. What I don't like about it, though, is the fact that while it is a 2 LT engine and a four-cylinder car. It still manages to be a bit of a gas guzzler even when it's just going out to buy food. The back seat is also comfortable enough to sleep on. The trunk has enough space to put bulk items in. It also has rear sensors for added protection in case I loose focus for a minute, and the sensor is there to tell me that I might hit something. I do wish that the dashboard was a little bit bigger, but that's only a small detail. And when using the hands-free services, it would be better if it had a hang-up button instead of you having to either wait for the other person to hang up or you having to go onto the phone and hanging up yourself. Overall, this car is a great car, and I don't see myself selling it anytime soon.

Started well, not a good finisher
The Fusion fulfilled my need for a good sized trunk, good handling and response, good pick-up acceleration and a few features like the trunk opening feature (fob-based). I like the room in the back seat, since I needed it initially for packages and bulkier stuff. Over time it seemed as if the materials used, especially exterior and interior trim, were of poor quality. I don't think I've ever had so many plastic and vinyl pieces fail and become brittle/break in a car or truck. The upholstery also seems to be difficult to clean or restore to the point where I gave up on some parts (seats) and simply covered them with better quality aftermarket options. The vehicle was a fleet or rental vehicle when I purchased it and had only 34k miles on it. Looking back it seems that a few things (seat cushioning, springs, visors, exterior trim, alignment, paint) all showed signs of fatigue and wear that didn't make much sense. Under the hood, I liked the layout for the most part, but (as usual!), some parts, in particular the air filter housing, were virtual torture to work with. Thank God, it was only a twice-a-year punishment at best! Engine performance was always good, but other powertrain components were another matter. Transmission shifting was increasingly rough, especially at lower speeds or downshifting. Sensors on the transmission seem to be incredibly expensive to replace, and eventual (premature?) wear on bearings and running gear still leave a bitter taste. Mileage is good - very good actually in most circumstances, but better traction technology could have helped. Brakes were steady, requiring minimal maintenance over time. The air bag recall problem was a comedy of errors - after 3+ years we're finally getting that repaired!
