My Prius is a bit of a let down for me. When looking for my first car I did all of this research and was told that Honda and Toyota were the best places to go because their cars were low maintenance. I love the design of the car. I love the gas mileage. What I don't like is the cost of maintenance I have had. Because the technology of cars is advancing so quickly, it seems that the cost for simple replacement items is astronomical. I had to spend $600 to replace a whole part in the car when all that was broken was the valve on the piece, but oh no, Toyota doesn't sell just the valve. What?! The computer system also stopped working, but I was told by the guy at the dealership that replacing it would be at least $1000 to replace because, of course, it is technically a computer. I am not done paying off the vehicle yet and the amount of maintenance and repairs has gotten to be way to much. I don't plan on buying another Prius or maybe even another Toyota product if they do things like refusing to sell valves when that is all that is needed.

I bought the car used and was really impressed with it and how it handles. It only had 30,000 miles on it, but was in fantastic condition. Obviously, Prius' are hybrids, and therefore the gas mileage is phenomenal; I live in Los Angeles and with how much gas costs, it's amazing that I can fill my tank for about $35 and it lasts about 350 miles. That means I fill it up 3 times a month, max. I have always thought that the style was cute; it has a sporty feel. Having a hatchback means that I can fit lots of things in the trunk, including finds from flea markets like awkward shaped mirrors and dressers. The seats are super easy to move down and back up, I can do it in 10 seconds or less. The battery strength is great. I once left my headlights on for an entire week, and my car turned on and was ready to go. No jump needed. So that's a great feature for people who are distracted easily or forgetful. The screen is also great while driving. I usually have the map feature up, but it gives you engine stats and outside temperatures. It's so easy to control the experience you have driving when you have the stats.
