2006 Acura TL - Great value for luxury.
The first thing that’s pretty obvious is that the Acura TL is a huge bang for the buck. This isn’t just a fancied up Honda. After driving many Honda Accords and other Acuras, the quality is far better and the value for the quality and workmanship is off the charts. The interior is premium in every regard. The doors and seats are smooth leather and the carpet is thick. It feels very premium. Especially for the price.
Story
The car is aging well and still gets compliments even though it’s over 10 years old. Most people think its much newer than it is since the styling is aging nicely.
Pros
The steering is so crisp and sharp. The power is ample at all speeds and it never feels like it’s struggling for power. Interior is premium and the sound system is top notch. The surround sound is amazing. Lots of deep base and rich sound.
Cons
Premium fuel. It is required for top performance. Maintenance costs can be a bit costly at the dealership. There’s also a bit of torque steer if accelerating too hard from a stand still.
2006 Acura TL - Excellent value, classic looks
The third generation Acura TL is a very well-built car. Acura's all time best selling model and for plenty of reasons. The build quality is superb. The interior materials are premium feeling. Nearly everything has a soft touch to it. Plenty of leather inside as a standard feature. The engine is strong, sounds wonderful, and when things get out of hand, the VSA Vehicle Stability Assist puts things back in place. The trunk pass through is large enough to fit 2x6 lumber through it! This came in handy when building my deck. For a car in this class, it provides excellent reliability and features at a reasonable price.
Story
Don't have a truck? Building a deck? No problem. It might take a few trips, but the lumber (up to a 2x6) fits right through the pass through.
Pros
The engine is strong and moves without hesitation. Styling has withstood the test of time. Standard features are excellent for class. Sound system is amazing.
Cons
The seat leather (perforations) has proven to be weak. Climate control could be more accurate.
