My Audi A4 is a very fun car to drive. It gives you the power and speed when you really need it. However, there may be some drawbacks if you are looking to maintain one with lots of miles, as it usually costs more than say an American brand. The quality is impeccable on these cars, but once something goes bad, they can be costly to repair as well. In any case, if you have the money to spend for the upkeep of this fine German engineered dream, you should certainly consider it!

My family has owned BMW, Mercedes, and Audi from this generation, and the Audi is not even close to the others in any category honestly. Maybe the looks for some people, but that is personal preference. All of these manufacturers have some reliability issues depending on model, and all are equally expensive in my experience. However, the internal build quality and handling are much worse on the Audi. There is flaking on some of the coating on the dash and trim, along with the wheel, and the leather is not as good as BMW or Mercedes. It gets good gas mileage, depending on trim obviously, but this generation only Audi had turbos so it will get slightly better mileage than the competition (would be a lot better without all-wheel drive). Handling is absolutely garbage. If you want something that feels sporty, do not buy this. The steering is way too assisted and airy, no weight to it at all. It is made purely for comfort and ease of use. But so is the Mercedes and it feels much better. BMW has steering and handling lightyears ahead of both. Navigation screen is trash on all, and Audi also has the worst sound system out of the three. The next generation of Audis after this are nice, but this one is a miss.
