I really bought the car for the all wheel drive. I needed something better in the snow. This car is better but not for deep snow. The bonus I got was the pick of the engine. It is amazing. The car hugs the road and is a joy to drive even for everyday commutes. The downside is how low to the ground it is. I have been used to SUVs. The engine is a 3.2, and I love it.
Story
I did not realize until my boyfriend pointed out that it can be switched to a manual transmission.
Pros
The engine has great pick up, and the all-wheel drive is good for winter.
Cons
It is low to the ground, and the synthetic oil makes oil changes around $65 rather than $25.

I purchased the 2005 Audi A4 off lease with 19k miles. It's a dolphin gray color with black leather interior and every available option. I can truly say it's a pleasure to drive, but it's a real pain to maintain. I always felt that Audi is a statement car. It says, "I've arrived" to anyone who measures that sort of thing. It handles well, has excellent power for an entry level engine, and all the creature comforts that someone with my salary range can afford.

Every time I drive the car, presuming everything is functional is a true delight.
Pros
The technology package is a big thing for me. I like having all wheel drive, rain sensing wind shield wipers, xenon headlights, and a programmable garage door opener built into the visor. I also appreciate the heated seats, and the fact that the seats are shaped in a sporty/fitted manner. The 17" 5-spoke wheels really make the car. Some people opt for the 16" rims, but those make it look like a totally different (and rather bland) vehicle.
Cons
my Audi is the thorn in my side. The cost of the oil changes feel like highway robbery, especially the "detailed" service dates. The Audi repair shops in my town all charge $155/hour for service, and there's pretty much not a single repair that they won't bill for less than two hours. Parts aren't terribly expensive, but the labor fees really grind my gears. While owning this car, I've had to replace the rear breaks ($700), repair the audio amplifier ($1200), replace the window motors on both sides of the car ($600), repair some cracked tubing/line that controls the steering mechanism ($80... The sales staff is low-pressure; customers are able to look at the inventory without a sales person pestering them. The dealership has a reasonable inventory that is diverse. The sales staff is friendly and is knowledgeable about the inventory and individual cars. When you buy a car, both the sales person and a specialist sit in the car and familiarize you with the features to a degree I have never encountered elsewhere. The reps at the service department are friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.

For me, it all comes down to loaner cars. . . A lot of dealerships give you the cheapest possible demo car, usually entry-level. In my opinion, they should match or exceed the car you're having serviced. So when I have my A6 worked on, I want an A6, Q7, or A8. I realize this isn't practical, but it irks me when I have to drive around an A3 hatchback all day. Bommarito West County always matches my car, or exceeds it in this way.
