2013 BMW 3 Series - Great MPG and handling, underpowered engine
The BWM 320i xdrive will meet the needs of 80% of the driving public. It has the BMW look/prestige, is comfortable, and gets great gas mileage. Enthusiasts will find the engine underpowered, but it will be sufficient for most people in day to day driving.
The sport package adds the M sport steering wheel, sport seats for the driver and front seat passenger and a special alcantara header that dresses up the interior.
The nav package has voice activated navigation. Heated front seats round out the package for drivers in colder climates.
Story
This BMW may not be the quickest but it handles snow very well, I once blasted through nearly a foot of snow on the way to work after a major storm.
Pros
Gas mileage is exceptional for an all wheel drive vehicle
Drivers wishing for more economical operation can choose an ECO mode
Drivers who want more performance can choose a Sport mode.
Driving in wet and snowy conditions is a breeze with the full time AWD
Cons
Even with sport mode engaged, performance is not what an enthusiast would expect from a BMW.
No rear seat pass-through is provided, which limits utility. The car will accept a roof mounted rack, however.
The voice command system is hit or miss. It is very difficult to make the nav system work with voice commands only.
The engine requires premium gasoline, which cuts into the advantage delivered by the eco mode.
Like all BMWs, options are very expensive and the cost can go up quickly.
1994 BMW 3 Series - Better than most vehicles today!
I loved every aspect of this vehicle. The quality of BMWs is always exceptional, but I was so surprised to get more out of a 20+ year old vehicle than I get out of my current 2007 car. Cruise control, great horsepower, comfortable and durable interior. A car that was built to last! I would recommend an older 3 series to anyone before I'd recommend something newer from a different brand.

Changing the control arms on my car was a gratifying and great learning experience!
Pros
The top pro of this vehicle is how truly reliable it was to drive. I made several cross country trips AFTER surpassing 200,000 miles on this beast of an automobile. On top of that, the car was also very easy to maintain. Being a 17-19 year old female during my time owning the car, I was able to teach myself how to do simple repairs such as changing the brake pads and changing my oil, to replacing the control arms, radiator, water pump, drive belt, instrument cluster, etc. All of these repairs were general maintenance to be expected with the age of the vehicle, and I never had any issues br... Cons
The only negative thing about this car is how expensive some of the OEM replacement parts still are for it! But they are definitely worth every penny when it came down to it. A beautiful great running machine!
