2008 BMW 3 Series - Fun to drive, costly to maintain.

The build quality is exceptional. There are no interior rattles and I have driven 100,000 miles. The interior materials look and feel high quality, and have held up well over time. I have experienced issues with key electronic components, including the stereo and navigation system. I’ve also experienced issues with the motorized seats, and air conditioning. The fuel pump went out due to a known defect. BMW fixed it for free.
Story
The first time I hopped on the freeway and really got to hit the gas peddle almost made all the costs worth it!
Pros
The vehicle is a blast to drive. It’s very fast and has great acceleration. I was very pleased with the gandering as well.
Cons
Repairs are costly. There seems to be significant electrical issues. My navigation system died pretty early on. It was going to cost over $2000 to fix. I chose to use Google Maps on my phone instead.

I like the driving dynamics of the vehicle. Every other car that I've tested in this price range is floaty and doesn't feel solid.
Story
The best part of my car is that it's RWD, which means that I can slide the back out. One of my best experiences in this car is sliding the car around in empty parking lots.
Pros
I love how it looks, how it drives, and the build quality of the interior.
Cons
This car has a very high cost of ownership after the warranty is over. The thing is that during the warranty period (4 years) everything is covered and provided for free. Of course, very few things outside of the normal scheduled maintenance items are approved for coverage. For example, my car has a bad synchro for 1st and 2nd gear, and although I constantly complained about it, the dealership never approved my request for replacement, so it's still not fixed. After the warranty period, even simple things like oil changes will empty your pockets.
