Transitioning from an E-46 to E-90 BMW I thought would be an upgrade. First, I was not used to the shaking of the engine every time the car started. RRRRRRRR sound was something that was not a selling point for me. The seats were the most disappointing seats I have ever had. If you have been in previous BMW's, the sport seats are some of the best. Worst of all, I didn't realize until a friend pointed out, my car looked like a Honda Civic from the rear.
Story
Nothing fun happened, unless you call losing your drinks on the floor fun. This happened every time I ordered a drink from a food place too.
Pros
The lights in the door handles were nice. I also liked the alpine white/tan black color combination. I liked the fact that it got better gas mileage than an E-46, but it was only by about 2 or 3 miles, according to my on board computer, which was also really helpful for using the internal dip stick oil level feature.
Cons
The cup holders in the dash are the worst! Having to slam on my brakes every time a car cuts in front of me, meant drinks rolled to the floor and came apart. The constant worry of water pump failure was just too much for me. I have heard horror stories and was waiting for mine to happen.

2001 BMW 3 Series - Satisfied, enjoyable driving experiences. Well maintained and easy to drive, also fashionable and prestigious.

I enjoy driving the BMW as well as the way in which it handles even though it is a later model. I also like the overall appearance of the car. It suits my style of driving. The performance is high as well as the efficient gas mileage for its year. The leather interior is also a plus and requires low maintenance cost to maintain its appearance. The repairs and maintenance on the vehicle are due to the year of the vehicle, however, the overall driving experience out weights the cost of maintenance. As a female driver, the regular maintenance of the BMW has not been difficult. I also like the safety features the car offers. The car continues to maintain a high resale value as well as trade in value. I would recommend the car to others.
Story
One memorable story for using this vehicle are the looks that I continue to get and the compliments even though it is a later model vehicle.
Pros
The top positive thing is that it is a high performance vehicle as well as the body style and interior. The other pro is the prestige of the car and the price point for the year and model.
Cons
High maintenance cost can be associated to the vehicle if is it not maintained properly from the beginning. Regular maintenance is required for continued performance.

My sales guy, Pedro Cañas, was awesome! He was really great, and even though he didn't speak a lot of English, we got along. My Spanish isn't so bad.
