I love my BMW. I spent a year looking for a newer SUV, wanting to move up from a Jeep Liberty. This car is perfect for me; love the sound system, moon roof, wide tires, manual/automatic, and speed and handling. The upkeep in the past 18 months has been a little high with a spark plug problem and the brakes are REALLY expensive to replace, but my joy of driving it has been worth it to me. I LOVE blowing past the creepingly slow drivers out there and being able to pass everyone!
Story
When I was driving on I-85 behind my cousin, who had an Audi 6. We tag teamed all the way from charlotte, NC, to Gastonia. It was a ball!
Pros
The sound system rocks - the upgraded interior, with leather seats, is fabulous. Carries 5 people easily yet isn't too big for just me on my commute. Fast turbo 6. Good on gas. Moonroof is fun.
Cons
Cost of repairs; 600 for a brake job, because the rotors have to be replaced every time the brake pads wear out.

I really enjoyed the X3. The redesign that they did added a lot of space in the interior while still feeling like a more compact SUV. It drives very well and is fun to drive but also rides very smoothly. Having the technology package really added to the luxury feel on the interior. The only drawback of the car is that there were some electronic issues that took a few visits to work out. The car had plenty of power for its size and still felt like it could easily overtake traffic on the interstate. The transmission was wonderful as well. Having 8 gears made the car change gears more often, but very smoothly so the ride was incredibly smooth
Story
I will always remember bringing my daughter home from the hospital in this car and my inability to get the car seat in properly after several tries
Pros
My favorite features were the 8 speed transmission, the technology package including navigation and satellite radio and the overall feel of driving and responsiveness
Cons
This car had some reliability issues which took a while to get worked out. My only other complaint is that there were times that it felt too large for a compact SUV. I am probably going to get something a little smaller next time.

This was a low pressure environment. They allowed me to take the car to a mechanic of my choosing before I purchased.

I never thought I would buy a car from CarMax as I was turned off by the no haggle prices. While I was getting my car appraised, I noticed they had a vehicle I was interested in for 2K less than other dealerships. The process was easy but slow (as with all car buying experiences). The salesperson went out of his way to make sure I was extremely pleased with the vehicle!
