The Buick, while it has never broken down on me, always feels "off." What I mean by this specifically is that the car rumbles when the ignition is started. Various creaks and noises seem to come from the engine when driving or while parked, and you can feel the car "moving" too much while you drive. The build quality, while appearing stable, therefore seems suspect to me. The internal materials are nice in the Buick, and I especially like the middle compartment which is movable and has a lot of space for knick-knacks. The fuel economy is not great—it seems like I generally get about 300 miles for a full tank but sometimes less. The performance is generally reliable, although I do notice that the engine struggles when going up hills quite a bit and that sometimes I really need to "floor... (more)
Story
I used the Buick to drive to my boyfriend's house, and he had never seen me in the car before, as I had just gotten it. He got in the car and looked really impressed because compared to my old, dying Civic, the Buick looked like a Cadillac.
Pros
The Buick is roomy, appears relatively stylish, has a nice middle compartment for storage, and is generally reliable in terms of performance.
Cons
The Buick makes a lot of weird sounds, and you can feel too much going on in the car when it moves. The gas mileage isn't great, and the car feels clunky.

The car may have been good when it was fairly new but it is old enough now that, regardless of miles, systems are starting to fail. Living in the East Coast of the US there is a lot of salt and this car does not hold up well to it. Also, there are many known fault in this model so I would recommend doing a lot of research and thoroughly evaluating the vehicle before buying it.
Story
Taking it to the Grand Canyon. We were there for a couple of days and had a lot of fun.
Pros
It drives nice and is a nice middle size. It is a nice car to drive.
Cons
I don't know where to start. This car does not hold up well to winters at all. There is a ton of rust on it. Also there are systems the are known to have issues. Look underneath it before you buy it. You're likely to find a bunch of rust all over the place. You want to check the fuel lines first and foremost because that would be dangerous if they were to fail. You also want to check the brake line because those, too, would be dangerous if they failed. Some of the body rust can be dealt with but a lot of it you can't do anything about. You also probably want to replace your thermostat. Tha... (more)
