I really enjoy my 2003 Buick Century. It's white, which was unfortunate, but I prioritized the size and year of the car over the color. I usually prefer grey, black, or blue cars, as I live in a rural area, and they tend to fare better between trips to the car wash. I consider the purchase well worth the price I paid for it, as it was around $3000, and I've had it almost a year already with no major problems.
Story
Driving three hours across the state several times with my significant other to visit my family are my favorite memories with this car.
Pros
The interior space is a huge plus for me in regard to this vehicle. I'm 5'9" and female, fairly tall compared to the average height of women I know, and I'm pretty sturdily built. I've had small cars before, and I always felt squashed into them and uncomfortable. There has rarely been enough leg space for me. But this car has that all taken care of. The seats feel wide, seat belts work flawlessly in any position, and the steering wheel provides adequate adjustment for me to find that perfect position to sit in while driving or riding passenger. The trunk is absolutely HUGE compared to my l... (more)
Cons
Its slower acceleration power than some of my previous cars. I must admit this disappointed me a bit, as I've had older cars with a bit more acceleration speed.

This is an older car that doesn't have many miles for its age because it previously belonged to a single owner who did not drive much. The major components of the car (engine and transmission) have performed well. I would recommend this car and based on the older model's performance would consider buying a newer model of the same make/model.
Story
This car has reliably taken the four-hour trip from my house to my parents' house twice a year for the past five years. Being in the car that long can be uncomfortable, but the Buick has enough leg room, overall roominess and nice enough seats that the trip is made better.
Pros
The best thing about the Buick Century is that is a reliable car. Maintenance has consisted of replacements due to age and wear that are completely normal. The air conditioning still works and the seats are comfortable. The car idles smoothly and doesn't have any weird noises or rattles. It is also a relatively quiet drive despite its age. It is not very bumpy and it has a six-cylinder engine so it can speed up quickly when merging onto the highway.
Cons
The key system is ancient. There is one key for the trunk and doors and one for the ignition. This is cumbersome and annoying especially since the ignition key contains a chip which makes it so that it can't be copied at a retail location; if you need a duplicate, you have to go to a dealer. The gas mileage is only so-so at about 27 highway and 18 city. Additionally, since this is an older car there are none of the standard features of a newer car like phone charger ports, digital radio, back-up cameras or GPS. It also lacks an interior button to open the trunk without the key.

My family had known the owner for a long time and he was always very kind and helpful. We also got a lot of vehicle maintenance done at the garage at Tewell's so we were quite familiar with the staff. This dealership is also very close to my home, only about a 3 minute drive. Since the dealership is so close, I would see the new cars that came in every once in awhile which made it easy to see any cars I liked and would consider purchasing. This was the case with my 2002 Buick Rendezvous which I purchased after seeing it on the lot as I passed by one day.
