Road Construction and weather make a big impact on travel time. Plan your route ahead of time and leave early in order to arrive on schedule.

There are a few car dealerships on the East side of town off Cambell Rd. I have not personally purchased a car in Rapid City, but I've heard that it's better to drive to Denver as the cars in Rapid City are overpriced.

The first time I drove up to Dinosaur Park via Skyline Drive was during my first trip to Rapid City to look for a new house for our family. After spending two days driving through the town looking at rental properties I was on my way up to Dinosaur Park when I got a call from a landlord offering us our first choice home. It was right before sunset and the light playing through the trees was beautiful. As I reached the top of Skyline Dr right by Dinosaur Park, the sun set and I could see most of Rapid City around me. I realized at that moment that this was a beautiful city and I would be happy to live here.

Mt Rushmore Road/HWY 16 to the south. We travel this road a lot to leave Rapid City and head into the Black Hills. Whether we are heading towards Mt Rushmore, Hill City, or some random hiking location, I know that an adventure awaits. The views are beautiful year round.

Maximizing driving experience in this city involves going out at a good time of day, usually not during rush hour when most people are either in their homes or businesses.

I have not bought a car in this city and thus would not know any advice for doing so.

I enjoy driving in and around the beautiful black hills, as I can check out many well-known landmarks such as mount rushmore and crazy horse. The first time I drove up to crazy horse I was in total awe.

Skyline Dr.. Skyline drive gives a tremendous view of the city of rapid city from up above all the businesses and pollution in the area.
