I purchased this car as a spare automobile so that I did not put too many miles on the other two cars. We use this car for short trips like the grocery store or sometimes to go pick up dinner at a fast food. The car has 150,000 miles but still runs decent enough. It has decent pickup for a car as old as it is. I have had to touch up the paint in a couple of places, but that has not been too much of a problem. The Cavalier still gets good gas mileage for being two decades old. The tires were changed right before I bought it, and they have gone about 30,000 miles and are in good shape. The heat and air conditioning work well, even on very hold and very cold days. The CD player that came in the dashboard was probably cutting edge at the time but is no longer used, one because it is broken... (more)
Story
We take it to the drive in because the drive in is dusty and muddy at times, and now it is just tradition to take the Cavalier to the drive in.
Pros
The car has great pick up. The car has good has mileage. The tires are newer and are still in great shape. It has a sunroof that does not leak.
Cons
I have had to touch the paint up in a few places. The rest of the paint is slightly faded, so it does not pop to the eye as much as I would like it to. The CD player does not work. The steering wheel has some wear to it.

I bought this Cavalier new as a work car because I drove 120 miles a day. I knew I was buying a fairly inexpensive car but I was nothing but pleased from the first. I bought the car on a hot summer day and the very first thing I noticed was that the air conditioner was absolutely the strongest, coldest, most powerful blast of cold air I had ever felt in any car! And it stayed that way every summer - and I never had the system recharged. Between that and getting 26 mpg, I was a very happy driver.
Story
We live in a rural farming community with a lot of large, slow farm trucks on the road in the spring and summer. I could maneuver that little cavalier around those trucks like a pro.
Pros
This Cavalier was sturdy - I drove interstate miles over roads that were pretty rough and this car just kept going strong. I averaged about 26 mpg. I'm a 6'2" 300 lb. guy and this car was comfortable - I had plenty of head and leg room. I serviced the car regularly, had breaks, belts and struts replaced once and put 255,000 miles on it. Most dependable car I've ever had.
Cons
I had to get seat belt extensions from the dealer - the seat belts were made for someone a lot smaller. The wiper motor was the only thing that gave me a problem on that car. I had to replace it 3 times. Over time, a lot of the plastic trim wore and lost its metallic color - you could see the plain plastic.

I've been purchasing vehicles from this dealer for over 10 years and have been served by the same sales person each time. The purchase experience is always enjoyable. There is never a high pressure sales pitch and the sales person is always helpful and willing to take as much time as needed to answer questions. In addition the service levels after purchase have always been excellent. The dealership is also conveniently located and easy to get to.

They were willing to overlook technical financial approval procedure by accepting more as a down payment and just using general good judgment in interviewing me and asking a few questions that were used to gauge my willingness and feasibility of paying them back. Most dealerships are lazy and follow a rigid approval process that omits risk but costs them potential customers.
