So I originally bought this vehicle because of the gas mileage (35+ highway) and the space it had. Well, coming from a Ford Escape which was a V6 to this which is a V4, it has been a definite change. The pick up isn't the greatest, and I still think it has transmission issues even though when I took it to the dealership they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It jerks sometimes and hiccups when I am stopping. I think when the A/C is on it gets even worse. It definitely makes me nervous, but that is the only issue with it. Although I think it is a big one that I do not feel comfortable driving my car all the time. The jerking and hiccupping is very unsettling. Especially on a car that was new with 15 miles on it.
Story
It made moving into our new house easier. I could fit a bunch of stuff in the trunk of the car as well as the back seat. Also, I have a lot of dogs, and they can all fit right back there. :-)
Pros
Gas mileage is great. I don't think I have gone below 30 MPG. Also the rear view camera has been very handy. Also that it has a roof rack. I have not used it yet but excited that it is there. The trunk of the SUV is also very roomy, and I can fit a lot of stuff back there. All the people I had in my car have said how roomy it is in the backseat.
Cons
The only thing I can't get over is how shaky it tends to be when I am stopping the car. The shakiness and jerking of it is very unsettling.

When I first purchased my Chevy Equinox, I was in love with it. I liked the fact that it was roomy in the front and back seats. I also loved sitting in a higher vehicle, so I could see the traffic in front of me. It came with an awesome stereo system. It performed well for the first year, then I started noticing that something just wasn't right. I felt like it was hesitating. Then, the engine started shutting off when I was in slow traffic. That was very scary because, there isn't always a place to pull off. I had one sensor replaced, and it still kept shutting off. I have a different sensor replaced and that seemed to work. However, I still felt like it was hesitating. I didn't feel confident in it anymore.
Story
The most memorable story I have about the Equinox is that I was always driving over the curbs. The side panels were wide and hard to see around, and I ran over every curb. My husband called me the curb cruncher.
Pros
The positive things about the vehicle were the roominess inside and the back seats folded down if I need to carry something large. It rode smoothly, and I got great gas mileage. I absolutely loved the stereo system.
Cons
The panels on the right and left side of the windshield were wide and made it hard to see. If I was at a stop light and a pedestrian was standing on the road ready to cross, you couldn't see them well. Same for curbs. Also, when the engine started hesitating, I no longer felt comfortable driving, especially at night.

I looked at three other Chevrolet dealerships trying to find the best price for the car of my choice. All the others were very pushy on buying that day except for here. I worked with Jim and he actually told me to wait until the next month to buy. He knew that the following month would give me a better discount on the car as Chevrolet was having a "sale" on the Sonics that month.
