White Bear Lake, Minnesota
2008 Chevrolet Impala.
Overall the car has performed well and I have gotten over 180,000 miles on it so far. It is very reliable starting in the Minnesota winters. It provides a smooth ride for the mostly city driving I used it for. In earlier years, it was very comfortable on long trips. The seating is comfortable for a large person and can fit 5 people comfortably. Most of the normal maintenance can be handled by an individual without good mechanic knowledge or heavy tools such as battery replacement, front light replacement, tires and a few of the belts. The car has never shown any leaks or other equipment problems other than just normal wearing out. On a negative note, the rear lights, especially the reverse lights, require a major process to change. You have to remove and entire back plate to get to the lights and a 10 minute $5.00 repair is impossible on this. The computer sensors seems to have a problem as the car ages and it is giving 'false positives' on service issues in the car. The lights can be ignored but it does make for some nervous driving with numerous caution lights on the dashboard.

Awesome highway car.
I have owned this car for ten years now. I bought it new and have enjoyed owning ever since. The car gives a smooth ride and is quiet comfortable. I have 160,000 miles on it. Besides regular maintenance, I have had no big issues. This car handles well on curvy roads and does well in snowy weather as well. These cars usually don’t get enough credit for their performance. I plan on buying a new one in the future, but I’m keeping my current model until it will no longer run.

Economical
Our Chevrolet Impala has been a very economical car for us as it gets great gas mileage. We do not do a lot of long mileage drives but mostly around town for errands, shopping, church etc. It is silver in color which is one of my favorite colors for a car and therefore does not show dirt easily. This is good as we are older and it is difficult for us to wash our car as often as we would like. It has a gear shift console which was difficult to become accustomed to at first as our last car had the shift on the steering wheel column. I still find myself reaching for the shift on the steering wheel. The driver's seat is automatic but the passenger seat is not. All of the windows are power operated and can be controlled by the driver. I miss small pockets on the back of the front seats for storage and the pockets in the front doors are not too spacious either. The ride is quite comfortable and the noise level is quite good. The engine runs very quietly so that sometimes we don't even think it is running and try to start it again. All in all, it is a good car for us and we would probably recommend it to family and friends.
