I love this truck. I have driven several makes, models and years of truck for work, and the 2013 Chevy Silverado is by far my favorite. The quality is great. The fuel economy is greatly improved from previous model years.
Story
I was stuck in traffic coming home from a weekend trip to Northern Michigan, when I decided to get off the highway. My GPS sent me down fire access roads on a state game preserve. I didn't realize I would be "off-roading". Large sections of the road were flooded or washed away, but there was no room to turn around. I switched to 4 wheel drive and prayed. The Chevy Silverado made it like a walk... (more)
Pros
The truck is the perfect size. It's fully capable of working on the farm then running into town to get groceries. The turn radius is quite small for a truck and the interior is extremely comfortable.
Cons
There is a lag from the time you press the gas pedal to the actual response of the engine. To eliminate this lag I replaced the cold air intake. Not only did the new cold air intake eliminate the lag, it improved the gas mileage by about 3 mpg. It was a simple and reasonably priced fix.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - I hated it.

It felt like the transmission was going to blow up, it felt like the engine was weak. It felt like the body was very weak, a deer ran into the side of it and put a huge dent in it. It would downshift several times going up small hills. We had to fix things on it all the time. It was a pile of junk. I will never buy a Chevy truck or car for that matter, again. The air conditioning also had issues. This was a brand new truck in 2002 to my grandfather, an older man, who never worked the truck, and it had a ton of issues. I guess its true, Chevy like a rock, sitting in the driveway!
Story
We took it to Lake Michigan, with our friends in the bed with the topper on it.
Pros
It had a nice ride, as in the Cadillac of Trucks. It was a truck, when we had to have a truck and not a car.
Cons
The engine was weak, and didn't feel like it had much power. The transmission was weak, shifted when it shouldn't have. The brakes ended up popping after sitting for only a few months. A deer ran into the side of the bed, and the whole half of the bed needed to be replaced, it was a weak design. It cost us an arm and a leg just to keep it going on the road. The air conditioning had a leak.

I was in the market for a used SUV and they had a great selection. I was able to narrow down a list from their website, call them up, and set up a visit. I test drove multiple vehicles, and there was no pressure at all from the salesperson. This was a pleasant surprise. I know they weren't making a lot of money on me buying a used vehicle, so I expected to not be given a lot of attention. In fact, they spent all the time with me I wanted and treated me like I was buying a new vehicle. I would not hesitate to shop them again in the future!

We were greeted on the lot and the salespeople let us look until we asked for help. Great selection of pre-owned cars with under 100,000 miles on them, and one owner. We never felt pushed into picking something and enjoyed that when we took it for a test drive we could drive anywhere instead of on a pre-set course like we had to at a few other local dealerships. Overall it was one of the easier car purchases we've made.
