The 2004 Chevy Suburban is a great vehicle for a large family. It has third row seating and can seat eight people comfortably. It has plenty of leg room for passengers in the second and third row. It also has a very large back compartment even with the third row being used. The interior is very easy to clean and the seats are the most comfortable seats I have ever had in any vehicle. It is definitely large, so gas mileage is not the greatest. It has been great as far as not needing a lot of work. Outside of general maintenance, we have had to replace the alternator and that is it. It is a very comfortable riding vehicle. And with almost 180,000 miles the engine is still running great. The one downfall I have noticed is that in extreme hot temperatures outside when driving on interstates, the check engine light does come on. But once the temperature cools outside (usually at night) and the engine recycles, the light goes off. Overall, I have not had any major problems and would definitely recommend a suburban to anyone. It has plenty of room for our family of six plus friends, and the four wheel drive is awesome in the winter!
