We purchased our 1995 Chevy Tahoe from a used car dealer about three years ago. We wanted a solid 4-wheel-drive vehicle for driving up in the hills in the backwoods of Oregon. From the beginning we loved the smooth ride, the substantial weight, and the roominess of our Tahoe. With three growing children who were teen or pre-teen, we needed that room! As the father of this group, I'm a typical man who enjoys lots of power in my vehicle. The Tahoe fulfilled my expectations, with plenty of get-up-and-go to handle whatever we've encountered. It barely feels it when a trailer is attached. Overall we have been very pleased with the quality, roominess, and power of our 20-year-old Chevy Tahoe.
Story
At our local school, there's a tight parking lot, and it can be difficult to backup at times. The kids find it hilarious when I watch for anyone watching, then drive up and over the barrier and curb. I like 4-wheel-drive.
Pros
The best features of the Tahoe are the roominess, the power, and the 4-wheel-drive. The Tahoe is quite roomy, with a rear seat that folds down to accommodate even a full sheet of plywood or a large appliance. The power is more than adequate for four-wheeling in the hills or towing a trailer. The 4-wheel-drive is simple to use, at the touch of a button, and it performs well in snowy and icy conditions, as well as rough terrain. We felt quite safe in our Tahoe, especially on high mountain dirt roads, where the 4-wheel-drive kept us safe.
Cons
The biggest negative about the Tahoe is its terrible fuel mileage. The best we've seen is about 19 MPG on long trips, using full-synthetic energy-conserving oil and additives. On average, we get about 14-15 MPG.

As a shorter person one think I like is how there are side boards that allow me to easily get up into the truck. Overall the truck is pretty amazing. Have only had a few minor issues that have all been relatively easy fixes when it comes to maintenance of the overall truck.
Story
My fiancé and I were moving to our new house and it made it so much easier because it was big enough to not need a truck to do so.
Pros
I like that in there are the sideboards that make for it easier to get up into the truck. It does really well in both the snow and heavy rain waters. And I have also noticed a lot of people take less chances when it comes to turning out in front of us. Also, cops are less likely to profile me for being a younger person in the older truck because they don't assume I am going to be doing anything bad. Or they don't assume I am going to be out drag racing in a 1997 Chevy Tahoe.
Cons
The weight class of the vehicle makes it hard to park on regular street parking spaces. As a result of this I have gotten 2 parking tickets for parking where no trucks or commercial vehicles could park because I wasn't aware originally of the difference it weight class. There is also the fact that I was used to driving a smaller vehicle so it is odd to go from driving a smaller vehicle to one you almost need a step ladder in order to get into.
