As a previous owner of the 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, my experience was fantastic. So when I was in the market of another vehicle my first instinct was to purchase another one. Aside from the comfort, my Trailblazer is attractive and stylish. Living in a rural area where majority of the roads are not paved, the truck maneuvered with excellence. The general and routine maintenance is very easy for the at home mechanic as well as the replacement parts being cost effective. Another aspect that is very pleasing is the gas mileage. With gas being almost $4.00 a gallon, it takes about $50 dollars to fill it up. Since I travel 45 minutes one way to work, filling my tank up just once a week lasts the entire week and that's working six days a week!. It was impressive to realize how fuel efficient... (more)
Story
A fun time that I had with my Trailblazer was when I was moving. Aside from the inside being completely stuffed, I also had several items on the roof. When I was traveling one of the boxes was not sitting straight on top of another one. When I turned down a sharp corner the box went up on end and was literally teetering at an angle. When I looked over and saw that I laughed. What was most surp... (more)
Pros
The best feature about the 2006 Trailblazer is the maneuverability. There have been times on a busy freeway and in neighborhoods that another driver has pulled out in front of me. The reaction time for the truck moves in a very fluid manner. With great ease, I am able to move out of the way to avoid an accident. The sensation is that the vehicle feels very solid, not top heavy like other SUV's on the market. Secondly, another feature that is comforting is that I have not found any blind spots. Since I am a short person making sure that I can see everything is difficult in most vehicles. T... (more)
Cons
A negative aspect with the Trailblazer is that the key gets stuck in the ignition. When attempting to put the vehicle in park, sometimes the "click" on the shifter can not be heard. When this happens, the key gets stuck in the ignition. The only way to make sure the battery doesn't drain is to disconnect it. It is wise to have a spare key in case this happens. After visiting several repair shops and even the dealer, nothing really can be done. The only solution is to completely change out the ignition lock cylinder to which is expensive. As an at home mechanic with intermediate knowledge, ... (more)

I bought my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer in 2008 when I was looking for a vehicle that would be able to tow my 3600+ pound boat to and from the boat ramp and on longer trips. I was hoping it would last me four years. Well, here it is, 2017 and my Trailblazer is still running great. It is over 12 years old and has over 130,000 miles on it. I keep thinking that I'm going to have to start spending a lot of money on it, but all I've been needing to do is regular maintenance. The Trailblazer is great for other tasks besides towing a boat. The back seats fold down to make for a large cargo area to transport bulky items. I like the back hatch, because it makes it easy to load and unload large items as well as regular grocery purchases. When the back seats are not folded down, the Trailblazer seats ... (more)
Story
When we were packing up the Trailblazer to move my daughter to college, we were amazed by how much of her possessions we were able to fit in the Trailblazer. When we arrived at campus and started to unload the SUV, people were amazed by how much we were able to fit inside!
Pros
Comfortable ride for an SUV. Good cargo space, both with and without the back seats folded down. Able to tow a 3600+ pound boat. Nice legroom for backseat passengers.
Cons
Fuel economy is not as good as a car or a newer SUV. Stereo speakers have stopped working except for one. Rides more like a truck than a car as far as a "smooth" ride goes.
