2014 Chevrolet Traverse - This is a great vehicle. It's big enough for our family and cargo, and small enough to feel like I don't need two lanes for traveling.

The Traverse is roomy enough for a family with growing tween and teenage boys and all the groceries to feed them at the same time. It has comfortable seating in the driver and passenger row and the middle row. The third row seating is fine for smaller passengers. The seats fold down easily for more cargo space. The gas mileage of an average of 22 miles per gallon with the rural driving that I do is great for the size and power. Cruising uphill is easy with the powerful engine. The rear back-up camera has a great wide angle view which is a good thing because the design leaves several blind spots that make it dangerous without the camera. The metal between the windshield and the passenger window create another blind spot that requires the driver moving forward and backward to see when tu... (more)
Story
We were planning my son's wedding and decided to go with a fairy tale garden theme. My job was to find dead tree branches we could use to add lights and flowers to. I was driving home one day and spotted several on the side of the road. I whipped around and pulled over near the branches. I proceeded to put all the seats down so I could stick them in the back to take home. I realized they were ... (more)
Pros
The Traverse gets 22 miles per gallon on average for the type of driving I do, which is mostly rural. There is a good amount of room in the back when the seats are down for plenty of cargo space for those flea market finds, groceries for growing boys, and hauling bicycles. I love the power the Traverse gets while going uphill. It performs like an 8 cylinder cruising up the hills without losing speed or having the engine work hard.
Cons
The design of the Traverse gives it several blind spots for the driver. Without the backup camera, it would be dangerous to back out of a driveway or parking spot. The metal between the windshield and the front windows create a blind spot when turning. It means that as a driver, I have to be extra vigilant and willing to move around to see while backing up and turning.

I have loved this car for the most part. It has tons of leg room which is important for me because I'm tall. Mine seats 7 people which is awesome for our family of 5 because we can take a couple friends on trips too. The back seats fold down. The middle seats do but not flat down. Mine also has a backup camera, a TV, and everything is electric, including the heated seats. There are two seats up front, two captains seats in the middle, and a bench seat in the back. The back seat also lets you fold down one side and not the other if you are hauling stuff. Mine came with a hitch too and has traction control. It does really well in town driving and we have taken it on several trips across the states for family vacation.
Story
When I had to get my aunt to Nebraska from her home in Michigan she brought so much stuff with her that we had to take out one of the captains seats and fold down the backseat. she brought her dog so we had a ton of dog stuff as well. We were on our way home to my home in Nebraska and hit some traffic and construction. I had to slam on the brakes thanks to the guy in front of me and her pile o... (more)
Pros
The things I love the most about my car are the seating area. There is literally tons of room for people to have their own space. I have plenty of leg room while I'm driving and I love that it sits up higher so I don't feel like I'm in a car or sitting low. The seats are comfortable (mine are leather). I love the TV in mine for the kids because I can turn a movie on when they are getting rowdy.
Cons
The biggest drawback is the spare tire. It is so hard to get it out. We got a flat coming out of the city, which by the way the sensor didn't warn me until I only had 7 pounds of pressure so it didn't do it's job, and it took over an hour just to get the tire out from the spare lodge. Also while there is a lot of room inside the vehicle it is hard to get people into the backseat unless they are under 10 because there is not much room to walk between the captains seats to get to the backseat. It is a very tight fit there and no other way to get to the backseat.
