The PT Cruiser is a good car for driving around town. It has a good turning ability, parks easily, and you sit up a bit higher so it's easy to see around you. The quality is a bit lacking, though. Interior is somewhat cheap and the body is not of the highest quality.
Story
It's fun to drive around town. One day we stopped at a yard sale and wanted to buy this nice 6 person wooden dining room table, and we thought for sure it would not fit in the back, but it did. (We had already removed the back seats for another reason.)
Pros
Favorite features about this car are how easy it is to get in and out of, since you sit up higher than a regular car. Lots of room in the back for hauling things, especially if you remove the rear seats. Very responsive to wheel turning, has good power for around town. The color is great (red), and lots of room to sit if you are tall or a bit larger.
Cons
The body is pretty cheap. The front bumper can get caught on parking cement blocks. The air conditioner is not as strong as it could be for very hot days. The rear view mirror can sometimes block your vision out the front windshield. I don't like that the window openers are on the dash rather than the doors. You can't unlock the right side door with a key. There is an electrical problem that has not been able to be fixed by the dealer. The key fob doesn't work and they can't replace it.

2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Good basic car.

I haven't really had any issues with this vehicle outside of basic maintenance. The only major issue is that the turning radius is absolutely awful--nearly every U-turn or turn into a parking space is a three-pointer. It handles well other than that and hasn't given me a lot of trouble.
Story
Driving back home from celebrating my birthday with my friends stuck in freeway lanes merging to one traffic at 11pm with a radiator that wasn't quite repaired yet. It was certainly a memorable night.
Pros
Got it for a good deal, and it's a car that's good/reliable for a lot of miles. No serious electrical issues. The factory radio sounds good. I personally love the analog clock, unique 360-degree rotating air vents, and the ball on the gear shift. The unique car shape makes it easy to spot in crowded parking lots for sure. While it's not a turbo by any means, the acceleration is solid. Only requires standard vehicle maintenance.
Cons
The engine block has been more shaky than on an average car, leading to some idling issues, not to mention the fact that engine mounts are extremely expensive and labor-intensive. Air conditioning and radiator problems take all day to fix because you have to take out the entire dashboard to get to a lot of things in the engine, or in the case of the radiator, a lot of things in the front of the car have to be removed for access. Lastly, the turning radius on the car is not tight by any means.
