My PT Cruiser is the perfect vehicle for me. I am 74 years old and 4'11' in height. This car is easy for me to get in and out of since it is low to the ground. However, when I sit behind the adjustable steering wheel, I am sitting up high enough so that I don't have to strain to see over the wheel. The car handles nicely and can easily cruise down the highway at 80 miles an hour. The engine is nice and quiet and there is no wind noise or annoying rattles. The body is compact and tight with a good solid sound when slamming the door. I love the old fashioned analog clock on the dash, which keeps excellent time. Also, the adjustable arm rest makes for a comfortable drive. The AM FM radio has excellent sound quality and the sound is adjustable front to back. There is also a CD player ... (more)

It took me 2 years to put the first 1000 miles on my car. It only had 35000 miles when I bought it used. So at this rate, I'm not going to wear it out soon. I drive to the local Senior Citizens Center for exercise then home again.
Pros
Even though my PT Cruiser is a compact car, the back seats fold down so that I can load and haul a lot of cargo in the space provided. Also, when the seats are up, the compartment in the back with the hatchback door is a perfect riding space for my dog.
Cons
I get good gas mileage with the PT Cruiser; however the engine is not as powerful as some. When I go gambling at the mountain casino, the little engine struggles with some of those inclines. But we make it there just fine. Slow and steady wins the race!

I love this car! It's become my favorite car to just pack up the cooler and head out for a road trip!
Story
This last time in Cali, we eating a Five Guys burgers, In and Out's shakes, and Weinersnitzle's fries while staring off into the ocean. Not that it wasn't a memory all in it's own, yumm, but a cartoon artist was working the beach and saw us all in Pt Cruiser and did a character painting of us all the sleek purple PT, waves reflecting off the hood, while we were stuffing our faces! He offered ... (more)
Pros
The fuel economy is this thing is impressive. Off the lot it got close to 40 mpg on the highway. Throw in a tornado into the air intake and it was almost 50. Now add some conservative driving habits like slow acceleration and coasting down hills and limiting use the gas pedal, and last road trip I was seeing 62 mpg on the highway. That means more cash to do things while out on the road trip!
Cons
I had picked up this car for nearly free because it needed a new water pump. Water pumps are easy, OK!! Well, it was a pain in the butt on this thing. Who puts a water pump inside the flipping engine? Took me about 20 hours to get it done, having to rent two specialty tools along the way. Also, the struts and bushings on this thing were shot. I guess that's the car's weakest link, but it was worth the repair.
