I haven't really had any issues with this vehicle outside of basic maintenance. The only major issue is that the turning radius is absolutely awful--nearly every U-turn or turn into a parking space is a three-pointer. It handles well other than that and hasn't given me a lot of trouble.
Story
Driving back home from celebrating my birthday with my friends stuck in freeway lanes merging to one traffic at 11pm with a radiator that wasn't quite repaired yet. It was certainly a memorable night.
Pros
Got it for a good deal, and it's a car that's good/reliable for a lot of miles. No serious electrical issues. The factory radio sounds good. I personally love the analog clock, unique 360-degree rotating air vents, and the ball on the gear shift. The unique car shape makes it easy to spot in crowded parking lots for sure. While it's not a turbo by any means, the acceleration is solid. Only requires standard vehicle maintenance.
Cons
The engine block has been more shaky than on an average car, leading to some idling issues, not to mention the fact that engine mounts are extremely expensive and labor-intensive. Air conditioning and radiator problems take all day to fix because you have to take out the entire dashboard to get to a lot of things in the engine, or in the case of the radiator, a lot of things in the front of the car have to be removed for access. Lastly, the turning radius on the car is not tight by any means.

Overall, just a solid car. I got it about three years ago and it was in need of a timing belt replacement (which I knew at the time and got a good deal for it because of that); beyond that, basic maintenance has kept it purring along. It's a 'low-tech' car... Which is right up my alley; manual drive, as few computer-interaction points as possible.
Story
I just love taking it car camping... I've gotten trapped in summer thunderstorms in the Sierras and always surprised myself at how quickly I can pack up a campground and fill it all in my car when the rain starts down!
Pros
Space - seriously, l volume capacity is huge. I've helped many friends move and we're always astounded. Removable back seats - sure, this is a part of the "space" thing, but it also means I can sleep in the back (with ALL the head room!) Still going! - Being over 15 years old now, it has remarkably few rattles, etc. Manual gear - I LOVE driving a stick.
Cons
The engine bay is a bit cramped, I was sort of hoping to be able to poke around a bit more (with my total lack of experience) but I really can't get in anywhere. Because of the above, it costs more when repairs are required because the mechanics can't get in there either, so it's more likely they'll pull the block (which is more man-hours). It looks pretty ridiculous.
