2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Spend your money elsewhere.
This car has been nothing but issues since I purchased it. There is always something going wrong. Something is always breaking and repairs are costly.
Story
My daughter and I had to take a local road trip, and we decided to "camp" in the car. It may not have been the most comfortable, but it was definitely fun. We played cards, sang to songs on the radio, and just talked. It actually brought us closer together.
Pros
The vehicle is larger in the inside than expected and can hold five normal-sized adults comfortably. The driver's seat sits high, so it's great for short people like myself.
Cons
There is always something going wrong... even at lower mileage. The A/C has gone, and it was over $2k to get fixed because in this car everything is connected. The timing belt has gone, and because of the type of engine, it destroyed the pistons as well...so they had to all be replaced... a week after they were replaced because they were worn down. The car is made cheap, so things are falling apart. Tail lights brackets have broke and the interior ceiling has had the brackets break as well as the driver side mirror cover. It also gets poor gas mileage. It's just not worth the money.
2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser - Issues
The car always seemed to have issues. It always seemed to be one thing after the other. Every time it went into the shop, there was something wrong. Overall it's an okay car, and when it's not in the shop, it runs good.
Story
All the memories that my daughter and I have had since she was five have been in this car. We have made several trips to PA and visiting friends in MD. Just thinking back to all the trips we have taken is great.
Pros
Comfortable car to drive. I am short, and I can adjust the seat high, so I can see out the windshield better.
Cons
The vehicle get very poor gas mileage. It gets about 17/23 mpg. The engine is hard to get to when there is a repair. Everything sets on top of the other. So if something goes wrong, they have to wiggle around other engine parts to get to thus making it more difficult and more costly.
