2008 Chrysler Town and Country - A Great Van For A Family!
I'm very proud of my purchase of the Chrysler Town & Country. It has taken me and my family across the country two times. I'm now approaching 130,000 miles and the car is still running strong. I have to say that it's a really reliable car. The car has provided enough room and spaciousness for my family of five. I never feel cramped or closed in.
Story
My family and I drove it in the mountains. We thought it wasn't going to handle the curves and hills but it did to our surprise.
Pros
Reliability - every day I start the car up with no issues. I like the stow and go feature that allows us to put the two middle seats under the floor board for storage. I also like the storage space in the back. It allows enough room for us to get all our luggage, groceries and gear in there with out there being any issues. I also like all the safety features it provides from running lights to multiple air bags.
Cons
The things I don't like about my Town & Country are the overhead storage bins. They don't close properly at times and they also don't provide enough storage. Another thing I don't like is the middle console. It doesn't provide enough storage and it's really low. I wish it was bigger like the newer models. The last thing I don't like is the fabric on the seats. They are not as durable as I had hoped.
2006 Chrysler Town and Country - Lasts forever
Almost 300,000 miles and it's still going strong. No major repairs, just needs regular maintenance. It has plenty of get up and go. I've only had it about a year, but that's long enough to really know a vehicle. The seats are leather, but they aren't cracked or worn out very much at all. Very good quality interior. It's been through two kids and a dog with no problem. Plenty of space. With the seats taken out, it can haul all types of stuff. Very roomy all together. Looks smaller on the outside than it really is on the inside.
Story
I hauled a whole house worth of boxes and appliances in only four trips. We had a dresser on top, one inside, and a fridge with boxes surrounding them all in one trip.
Pros
It is fairly good on gas, especially on long trips. Handles well in snow for being a van. Very smooth ride with just the factory shocks/struts even on bumpy roads. It has a very shock resistant factory CD player that plays CDs that no other device can play.
Cons
The van needs a better standard jack with it. More storage in between the front seats would be nice, but nothing I can't live without. There is no climate control in the back of the vehicle. Even with the heat or A/C going on high, the very back seat is uncomfortable.
