The Dodge Charger 2013 R/T AWD is great for local driving, but has poor gas mileage and a history of breaking down. I had this exact same fear, so I bought the best available warranty. I was most worried about an all-wheel drive system on a torquey-V8 failing, because I read reviews online. IÕm nearing 50,000 miles and have been somewhat disciplined about maintenance, but the only issues have been standard recalls and warped brake rotors, which I had not had too many issues with. I bought my car after having my first child, so Camry/Avalon were the main serious competition as I was coming from a Corolla. If you test drive down the GT AWD, you wonÕt go back. Dodge Charger is one of the most precisely engineered and easy to drive sports cars I have ever had. It has a large interior, well... (more)
Story
Well, I used to dream that I would travel across country. I bought my Dodge Charger and I finally drove across country just when the gas prices dropped like a stone. Then, I started driving more, sometimes getting 450+ miles on Saturdays and other days I had off. All of that in a Dodge Charger I bought for $5,000. Then a couple of months later I ended up getting my stereo system and have now t... (more)
Pros
The Dodge Charger has four doors (I have two kids) and plenty of power depending on the version you got. I test drove the GT Plus AWD, the interior was the best out of all the cars I had looked at and all of the ones I looked at were top of the line models. The power was good but not great. I was coming from the 3.5L Pontiac G6, which had plenty of pep but was lighter than the Charger. I chatted with someone at work who had a new 2018 GT Plus AWD, and he said he loved it, but he previously had a 5.7 AWD, and he missed the V8 with his GT, but it had plenty of pep for him.
Cons
If you know what the basics of DIY car repair, youÕre probably set, because you will experience a lot of issues with the Dodger Charger if you are not regularly maintaining it or getting it repaired by professions. Every problem IÕve run into has been a common problem to all vehicles (thermostat, spark plugs, intake air temperature gauge, little stuff like that). Like 90% of my problems were fixed with a basic mechanics tool set, some time, and a couple YouTube videos ( itÕs actually got a really nice open engine bay to work with). I have owned two Chargers, both sxtÕs though. My first wa... (more)

2006 Dodge Charger - Not your typical soccer mom car!

There have been few, if any, things I do not like about my 2006 Dodge Charger R/T. It has a Hemi V-8 with about 350 horsepower, which for the average soccer mom is more than enough. The suspension lacks somewhat if pushing all those horses around a tight corner, but it gets the job done. The brakes could also stand to be a bit more but again they get the job done. And they don't need to be changed any more frequently than an ordinary sedan. As if this car needs something to make it stand out, there is one thing totally unique to the automatic version of this car; it actually downshifts through the gears and you can hear it. And it sounds sick! I would definitely buy this car again and would recommend it all day long.
Story
I live in the foothills with moderate curvy roads and this car is pretty fun to drive everyday on these roads.
Pros
Ample horsepower and sounds good to boot. It feels like a sports car (well, sort of) but can fit the whole family for vacation with plenty of trunk space. It is the ultimate daily driver.
Cons
Suspension and brakes are a little lacking but upgrading would also increase the price of course. If you want Brimbo brakes then buy the SRT model. I personally don't care for the way the cruise control is integrated into the car with the separate handle right above the blinker handle. It is a little confusing.

I had wrecked my old car and needed a new one in 2013. I went to other dealerships earlier that day and was really frustrated because I couldn't find the right car for me. The salesmen were pushy and I knew I wasn't going to just buy anything. A friend recommended this dealership to me and with hesitation I went. Based on previous experiences at car dealerships, I didn't go in with high expectations. I was greeted by the salesman and he immediately made me feel comfortable. We walked around the car lot as he showed me cars based on what I told him I wanted. When I finally got to the row with Dodge Chargers and Avengers, I knew I wanted one of those. I decided to test drive a Dodge Avenger and immediately fell in love with it. After the test drive I was able to negotiate a good price an... (more)

One of the worst things about buying a car is pushy salespeople. Here, that didn't happen. My husband and I were allowed to roam freely and when we were ready to speak to someone, we were well taken care of. By chance, it happened we were there on the day of their Christmas party and they had a huge spread with the best tasting herbal turkey I have ever had. Since we were waiting to see if our bid would go though, the salesman offered us to have the luncheon buffet. This added to our experience because it can take so long to go through the necessary paperwork.
