Overall, the Dodge Dakota is a simple pick-up truck. Its design looks nice, and the quad-cab is convenient. With the back seats, it provides a nice mix of work utility and family vehicle. Unfortunately, many components do not seem made to last a very long time. With only 70,000 miles, many important items have had to be replaced. Although it is very inexpensive now that it is an older truck, the cheap price is offset by the many replacement items you have to buy for it. The shortened bed makes loading and unloading items very easy, but there is not very much room overall. The upholstery has held up well over time, but the floor mats were easily worn through within a couple months and the floor can stain very easily. The fuel mileage is what you would expect for a pick-up truck ... (more)
Story
A couple friends and I went to the Indy 500. We spent the hours before and after the race hanging out and tailgating at the truck. It was a great day.
Pros
There are not many positive aspects to this truck. The interior is fairly nice. The back seats actually have a decent amount of leg room, making it comfortable for all passengers. The headlights are very bright, making driving at night better. The electric controls on the driver seat allow you to optimize your comfort through many different adjustments. The speakers in the truck work very well and produce a very high quality sound for whatever stereo you have in the truck. The steering wheel is comfortable to hold, and having all the cruise control buttons located on either side of t... (more)
Cons
This truck has many problems. With only seventy thousand miles, I have had to replace many items. One of the front tie rods broke for no reason, as did one of the sway bar connecting links. The cable system that holds the spare tire under the truck bed broke. I laid under the truck on the side of the interstate and had to cut the cable to be able to get the spare tire out. The disc player in the radio stopped working without reason, and I had to replace the stereo. The center console handle broke, and it was unable to be opened. The front passenger cup holder is directly under the f... (more)

I like how roomy it is for a truck. The vehicle has great handling and steering. It can make it through all weather, and doesn't freeze up in the winter like a lot of vehicle I have driven. The look of the truck is sleek and stylish, I don't feel like a road hog when I drive it, nor do I feel like I am driving in a toy truck. The seats are super comfortable and adjustable, and the interior is stylishly organized. I have only had to take it to the mechanic for any problems once, other times it was routine maintenance. For a truck it is great on gas and gets good mileage. Being a Dodge, parts aren't terribly expensive like with some foreign cars.
Story
Was in this truck when I went into labor with my daughter.
Pros
Handling, Gas Mileage, And Overall Looks
Cons
Transmission Went Out Once.

They have low mileage, great vehicles for reasonable prices - much less expensive than the other 'chains' in town, without stooping so low as the buy-here-pay-here places.
