While I was initially happy to find a truck with basic features to fit my budget, over time I've found repair costs have far outweighed any savings. Cheap materials and construction have led to a number of needed repairs to parts that should last. Manifold bolt corrosion led to multiple exhaust leaks. I've also dealt with multiple oil leaks, transmission fluid leaks and coolant leaks, all well before 80,000 miles. After many trips to parts stores and repair shops, I've found numerous others with the same model of vehicle all suffering from the same series of mechanical failures I've experienced.
Story
The ride height of the vehicle being just enough to clear the snowpack on the highway after an unexpected blizzard hit to still make it home from work.
Pros
Adequate power for towing, easy to use controls in the center stack. Surprisingly easy to handle in winter driving conditions as well.
Cons
Costly repairs outside of normal maintenance that should not be expected in a vehicle until it's past the 100k mile mark. Fluid leaks become a normal occurrence, and there's always something new going wrong with the electrical system.
