Average truck
Overall, this has been a good truck; however, there have been issues through my ownership. Dodge does not seem to have the best quality. I purchased the truck because it was 4-wheel drive and a good price. After 6 years and 65,000 miles, I have had to work on the following items. Both front brakes locked up, and I replaced the rotors, calipers and pads. The fuel pump relay went bad. This is a common problem, and I had to remove the old relay from the circuit board and install a new one. The radio makes a loud popping sound occasionally and requires the truck to be turned off and back on before it will work again. And lastly, the drivers side window controls have to be taken apart and clean every few years because the contacts get dirty. In the 6 years I have had it, the engine and transmission have been good. I like the body styling of Dodge trucks. The rear seat in the quad cab folds up and provides plenty of room. A beach fishing cart with cooler and tackle box fits great!

Great truck
The 1999 Ram 1500 has to be one of the best trucks ever built. Mine has the 360 motor and heavy tow package. This truck has never let me down. It has pulled and hauled everything I've ever needed. The four-wheel drive is easy to engage and works flawlessly. The inside mostly has held up well and been east to keep clean. The only issue is the cracked dashboard. The storage behind the seats holds more than you would expect. It has trays to hold smaller items and keep them from running around. The driver seat is very comfortable and fully adjustable. I've never ridden in the passenger seat, so I can't confirm its comfort, but I've never had any complaints from passengers. The full-sized bed will easily hold full sheets of plywood. It has plenty of tie down points for anything you may need to haul. The paint has held up to abuse over the years and kept the metal protected. The steel has taken abuse from grave, bricks and full pallets of other materials without so much as a ding. Overall, the truck has been a true workhorse and delivered anything I asked of it over the last 19 years.
