This is the first vehicle we have had with the seats that fold down into the floor of the van and we love not having to take the seats out every time we think we might need to haul something. It is also nice having the storage space available when the seats are set up. I also like having the LATCH system for child safety seats as it is much easier to take the seat out and put it back in as needed. Even after 30,000 miles, the vehicle has no rattles. The EcoBoost system seems to slow the van down when in use, so we do not use it. It is a Flex fuel vehicle, however, we do not use anything other than the ethanol added gas. After researching, using E-85 fuel has more disadvantages than advantages, such as vehicle damage and poor gas mileage. The interior is nicely designed and decorated. I like the slide door covers on the storage areas, however, I have almost lost papers when they have slid up under the edge, Luckily, they came back after sliding and pushing on the covers. Having a storage pace for the rails on the top of the van is also nice.

    Wonderful Family Vehicle
The Dodge Caravan is a wonderful family vehicle. I am a mother of two and have plenty of space to fit our whole family in along with friends or items for outings. The best features in the Dodge Caravan are the fold down seats. Every seat from the middle back can fold down into compartments in the floor. These compartments are also useful when not storing the seats by allowing you the pout items below so they are out of the way. The version of the vehicle we have came with a DVD player that the kids really enjoy. It also connects the sound for the video through headphones provided. This way the front passenger and drive whom can not view the video can listen to music without bothers the back seat riders. The over all look of the vehicle is very sleek instead of boxy. It also has great tinted windows in the rear that keeps the sun out of children's eyes.

    Great Value Once Repaired
The 2002 Dodge Caravan has frequent challenges with its heater module and cluster panel. They communicate in such a way that it is difficult to tell whether the speedometer failure is caused by one or the other source. Repairs are costly, as mechanics say the parts are not considered more reliable than the original. I chose to have the instrument cluster re-welded by an expert and replace the heater module. Once the parts have been repaired/replaced, no further issues so far.
Currently, this Dodge has over 250,000 miles on it, and is running like a champ. I had the engine seals replaced, and it resolved a small oil leak. Steering is good, though I get nervous about being able to hear the gears working in the steering column when taking a sharp left turn at low speed.
The seats are very comfortable, and I enjoy being able to remove back benches in order to haul larger items. Fuel efficiency is pretty good for an older vehicle, up to 20 MPG on the highway. The caravan design also allows for great visibility all around while driving. I would rate this vehicle 3.5 out of 5 stars.
