sturdy, old, miss
I really miss this car. It was my first, so I can't deny my feelings of nostalgia. It had its flaws, but overall I found it to be very sturdy and reliable. It was a bit of a junker, and I found myself not caring strongly whenever it got a ding or took some foreign paint. (It was my learning car, as well). The car was new enough that it was reliable, had strong electronics, and was relatively fuel-efficient, but old enough that it served as a great training car with low financial attachment. The scratches and dents it came with suggested that it could take a hit, and that was proven when I spun off the highway and wrapped myself in a fence. I had to replace one tire, but after some cosmetic repair, the car ran just fine. It was a driver error- the car responded aptly to my braking, and I barely felt jostled as I swung on the road. I took out at least four metal posts, and they knocked against the windows, but did not blemish them. I walked away with nothing but a towing fee, as I had damaged the one wheel beyond quick repair. This car always started reliably for me, and though it sometimes whined in the morning cold, it warmed up quickly inside. I never took it into a shop, as any repairs it called for were relatively easy to fix at home. It responded well, and I never lagged in traffic or at the start of a light, and I wasn't afraid to pull up short, as I knew my brakes were in good shape. I hear from others that this particular model was not known for its longevity, but it ran just great for me.
