This Jeep has an excellent four-wheel-drive system with the ability to select 2WD, part-time 4WD, full-time 4WD, neutral, and 4WD low range. The difference between part-time and full-time 4WD is whether or not the front and rear axles are "locked" together. Part-time 4WD locks the axles, forcing them to rotate at the same speed. Full-time 4WD sends power to both the front and rear axles but allows them to turn at different speeds. Using part-time 4WD on dry pavement will cause the tires to scrub, since the outer front tire travels further than the inner rear tire.
