Suzuki Reno OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

The Suzuki Reno is certainly a quirky looking car. Overall it has good acceleration when the car is running well. However, it runs fairly loudly and even with new suspension the ride is a bit rough. The quality has been abysmal. It seems like the car is always requiring new work. The suspension went bad, new radiator, new brakes, now the gauges are failing. To add a cherry on top, there are not aftermarket body parts available for the car. The hood was dented from an accident needed to be replaced. My only option was salvage yard or a new hood from the manufacturer.

I wish I never bought it
I liked how the car looked. It was comfortable. There was plenty of room. Simply said, the car was terrific until it died. The manufacturer is bankrupt (Suzuki). If the company was not bankrupt may be they would fix it.
Here is what happened. I bought the car in 2007. It was good. The transmission started failing in 2012. I found an authorized car dealer that installed a new transmission. That's what they told me. The car was still under warranty. In about a month the transmission went down. The car dealer told me that I was entitled to 1 transmission installation. Long story short: I could not afford to install a new transmission and was forced to sell the car for pennies.

Like an American car, but more expensive.
The car, overall, is very... Dissatisfying. I've had nothing but problems with it. I purchased it with 69,000 miles form the previous owner with a blown head gasket (previous owner's fault). It has been nothing but a nuisance to maintain, and a burden to repair. When it works, it works like I would expect any car to run. Speedy little car, but it gets the job done.
I got this car as a "We need a car now and oh look, here's this one", and I have never seen a car with so many issues crop up 200 miles after purchase.
