The 2014 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen has composed handling and a tightly constructed interior, critics said, and the diesel model returns superb fuel economy. Turns are smooth and fluid, where as some vehicles can seem a little rough turning or even rigid. The comfortable ride makes long distance trips enjoyable, and more of a fun experience instead of a prison sentence with other vehicles. The SportWagen looks impressive and almost sporty, with excellent build quality and top notch materials. There’s also heated front seats, Bluetooth, an auxiliary audio input and an eight speaker sound system. The diesel engine generates a little more noise and vibration than the 2.5 Liter engine, but it’s still a better choice thanks to its snappier acceleration (both on flat surfaces, and going uphill) and gives excellent fuel economy. The manual transmission offers a precise, low effort shifter, matched by light, progressive clutch action. The automatic or auto manual gearboxes can sometimes be slow to downshift, so the manual gives no wasted power in shifting down or up. It gives an responsive and smooth ride.

This car has held up over the past 60,000 miles with no major issues. It can go for 10,000 miles between oil changes, which is nice. The engine in the base model is fairly weak though. There is a "sport" mode, but with the weaker engine it doesn't make a noticeable difference. The trunk space is pretty good, although it would be nice if the opening into the passenger compartment was bigger.
