The VW Jetta TDI has 150000 miles on it and is still going strong. The downsides are that the car is tiny, and that the diesel engine can make for a bumpy ride.. It has 14 inch wheels, is low to the ground, and can be cramped for tall people. However, the space there is in the car is very efficient. The trunk is big enough to hold everything I have wanted to fit in, absent furniture. The car is reliable and rarely needs work other than regular maintenance. It takes diesel, which is a little more expensive and can be harder to find, but gets 45 miles per gallon, even in town. This little car is a great investment.

I purchased our 1999 Jetta used with about 40,000 miles on the odometer. We have driven this car all over and not had any problems and the car is pushing almost 200,000 mileage wise. It gets great gas mileage and is so dependable. For a small car we are able to always fit lots of stuff into her for our road trips. The ride is comfortable and we appreciate that the road noise is almost non existent compared to other cars we have owned. We also love how the body style does not seem dated even after owning it this many years. So many car manufacturers update the body style of the car so often that you feel like you are driving something outdated within a few years. Not our Volkswagen Jetta. It is still as stylish as the day we purchased it. The power the engine provides for passing and getting around slow moving vehicles on two lane highways is a feature we love for where we live as we do most of our driving on these type of highways. Even after all these years of driving this vehicle every day all the original features are still working and in great shape. We are so pleased with our decision to purchase this vehicle and hope to keep driving it as long as possible.
