The overall quality of the car is standard to most other cars in the sport hatchback class. The interior quality with the leather upgrade is exceptional, but the interior electronics leave a lot to be desired. The radio and speakers (without the Beats by Dre package) are fairly weak and sound quality is quite poor. The multi-air engine is peppy, but has known problems with boost leaks. I have driven 39,000 miles and have had no issues with the car. Overall, the car is quite slow, but still peppy thanks to the turbo and quite fun to drive. The car is not for everyone and it is not the most practical car if you have a family or even friends as it is uncomfortable to carry more than one additional passenger. With all of that said, it is still a fun car and if you are a car enthusiast you ... (more)
Story
Driving with the windows down at Pensacola Beach, FL and listening to that Italian straight piped exhaust rumble is pure heaven to a car enthusiast.
Pros
Straight piped exhaust is a car lovers dream Turbo engine gives pep without killing gas mileage Parking the car and weaving in and out of traffic is a dream Used market is extremely well priced Aftermarket is great Abarth community is amazing If purchasing new, the Abarth experience is a car lovers dream
Cons
Paint is poor quality and chips are common Radio paint is also poor quality and the words on the buttons fade Boost leaks are common Depreciation is huge with new cars starting at $27k and in a few years going down to $12k Most people think of it as a clown car instead of a fun track car

I bought the electric version of the Fiat 500e (2013) several months ago for a little under $8000. I was immediately impressed with the way that the car handled and how smooth the drive was. As an electric car, it can only take me so far (around 88 miles per charge) but I mainly use it for my work commute and to do various errands around town, so the range limitation has never been much of a problem for me unless I forget to charge it at night. I haven't really noticed a difference in my electric bill even though I do charge it almost daily. I don't have an EVSE installed however, which means this car takes around 16 hours for a full charge at home and 4 hours if I charge it at a public station. The Fiat 500e doesn't have a DC fast charging option.
Story
When I took this car for a test drive, the salesman told me that it "had a lot of giddyup" to it when it accelerated. I decided to test that out as we were leaving the car lot and that same salesman's eyes nearly popped out of his sockets when I put on the gas.
Pros
Small, lightweight car makes for easy maneuvering and parking. Decent sound system. Zero gas costs and no impromptu trips to the gas station!
Cons
This car is tiny. Very, very tiny. I can stretch my right arm out and touch the passenger side door without leaning much at all, which make not be the best fit for everyone. My biggest complaint has to be how heavy the doors are. You can't just swing the door open and expect it to stay open without you holding it. I've had the driver's side door fall closed on me more times than I can count.
