We bought a used 2011 Ford Escape with a lifetime transmission and engine warranty through our local dealer. The car had been used a an Enterprise rental car and only had about 20,000 miles and was in good condition except for some minor paint chips on the back by the tail lights. It's compact and all wheel drive. We originally got it when we were a family of 4 and there is plenty of room. I really have no cons about it because we have had no trouble with the car what so ever and are at almost 100,000 miles.
Story
It was really easy to drive up hill in a huge storm we had in North Texas a few years ago. We had what was called cobblestone ice and most cards were sliding off the roads and not being able to be controlled very well. It was easy to go up and down hill without sliding forward or backwards and we were actually able to get to the stores and to work while most other people were not.
Pros
Comes with a lifetime transmission and engine warranty, has a luggage rack, fit our family of 4 well when we got it and had no problems when we had our third child fitting 3 car seats across. It performed well when we had a major snow and ice storm and never had issues with the car sliding or going up icy hills. Plenty of trunk space and the back seats fold down for large items that need to be hauled. I also liked that it had power seats because I am short and a lot of subs that do not have power seats do not move the seat higher just forward and I would have had to sit on pillows to see o... (more)
Cons
The main cons I have is that all the buttons are there for hands free and they do not work what so ever. I would have liked to have a navigation option. Also the payments are pretty high. Higher than we paid for a vehicle with a higher price tag.

2018 Ford Escape - Great comfort and driving.

I really enjoy the comfort provided by this vehicle. The Sync system works great. My iPhone connects and Apple Carplay works flawlessly. The heated seats and steering wheel are nice in the winter. I love the remote start and the ability to start the vehicle from my phone so I don't have to be in range of the key fob. I wish it had cooled seats. It has plenty of room for all my needs, but I could see where a larger family wouldn't fit as well. The moonroof and sunroof are just an added bonus. The EcoBoost engine is nice for driving around and having enough acceleration for when you need it.
Story
My favorite story was scaring my parents with the self-park. They weren't aware it could do it, and I turned it on and just let go of the steering wheel. My mom screamed because she thought the car got hacked.
Pros
The EcoBoost engine is great. It has good fuel economy but still has enough power. The self-park feature is fun to use. The moonroof and sunroof are nice when you want more airflow/visual ability. I really enjoy the remote start from my phone feature. The Sync system and phone pairing works great, as does Apple Carplay integration. I also really like the automatic lift gate.
Cons
I wish it had cooled seats along with the heated seats. The leather in the summer is extremely hot. I also wish the self-park could shift between gears instead of needing me to do it.
