Overall, this is a great, small SUV. I purchased my Escape used with 129,000 miles on it. I have put an additional 25,000 miles on it with no mechanical or electrical issues, besides a small recall part issued by Ford. This Escape get decent gas mileage about 24 to 26 mpg. It is an extremely comfortable car to ride in. I have driven it on four 12-hour road trips and have had no issue riding in it for that length of time. Runs perfectly smooth on the interstate, even with the more rigid tires I put on it. While this model is not 4-wheel drive, it was able to handle some off-road, mountainous roads while I was in Colorado. In all, this is a great car.
Story
Driving my Escape from 10,000 to 11,500 up a 4x4, mountainous road. I went to hike Grey's and Torrey's peaks in Colorado along the continental divide. The only way to reach the trail head was to take the several mile 4x4 road (or otherwise you had to hike up the road, which added about 3 miles one way to an already 14-mile hike). I was uncertain if my Escape would make it. The road started o... (more)
Pros
The best thing about this vehicle has to be the way it rides. It runs smooth on the interstate and handles bumps and minor terrain like a champ. The front seats sit up rather high, which is nice, and the dashboard is simple and easy to use. The keyless entry is one of my favorite things, because I can leave my keys in the car and not have to worry about losing them, say if I'm at an amusement park.
Cons
The car is a nice size until you want to haul things in it. The back seats fold down, but it would be nice if it was a little larger. The car seats five people, but it would be uncomfortable to drive a long time with 5 people in this car. The car has plenty of power to drive on flat terrain but lacks when you are driving up a steep hill or try to pass someone quickly. The interior seats upholstery stains very easy, even water will leave stain marks.

The Ford Escape is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. It is small enough to be able to turn and pull into spaces that a car would be able to but also spacious enough to carry so much more than you could in a car. It has a sleek design and a very spacious cabin. My car has a pano roof which is an added feature I will now require in any future purchases of a car. My car also has the turbo feature that allows me to accelerate quickly. The cabin is also not too noisy and rides rather comfortably. The sound system is great as well. It has the feature to Bluetooth and save many different radio stations instead of just the normal 6. It also has a CD player. It has USB and multiple 12v plug ins. One awesome feature of the car is that it has an electrical plug in as well which makes cl... (more)
Story
We were able to load $400 dollars worth of lumber inside the cabin as it was completely down pouring and we were unable to bring it home with us in the trailer with out it being damaged.
Pros
Pano roof, turbo, spacious, sound system, navigation, many storage departments, seats fold down to create more room, electrical plug in, spacious, EcoBoost, gas mileage.
Cons
Sometimes you engine will jump if you try to accelerate too quickly.

Both the salesman and the dealership manager did everything they could to get me into the car of my choice. The salesman came in on his day off to check that the car had been detailed as requested. A lot of effort was made by the dealer to meet my needs. I never once felt like I had been "taken".

My salesman was friendly and was not overly pressuring like many car salesmen are. He told us he was new to the dealership, and I have since learned he no longer works there. He was exactly the kind of car salesman I would want, but I can see how him not being overly pushy would not help him in an environment where that is expected of you.
