The ford Escape 2005, we purchased used three years ago. We use it for traveling a state over to work daily, fishing trips, camping, metal detecting all over the state through rugged terrain, and it really holds up to the previous Ford we had. For only being a four cylinder, it has enough power to trudge through the biggest snow storms, four wheel drive makes it a breeze. Through off road fishing trips we have had zero problems getting stuck. An addition to the vehicle is the rear window wipers, and plenty of interior lighting. The factory radio is decent with good bass, and the speakers in front and back of the vehicle are superb. I find the truck quite up to date and stylish, sleek to the eye, and not over the top. The check engine light came on once during the summer an... (more)
Story
We took this truck onto a very muddy dirt path to find a good fishing spot, it was a steep hill. The truck had no trouble traversing in and out of the area we were at, which gave me more faith in four cylinders. Didn't catch much, few small bass, but the ease of getting there, made the day.
Pros
1. rear window wipers 2. great factory sound system 3. have had no major repairs needed 4.sleek look 5. rugged in most terrain / off road, snow
Cons
Besides being a four cylinder, there really isn't much I can say about this truck that is bad.

The styling is fine on the car. It's not too old of a design, but it's not the newer sporty designs either. I am not a huge fan of the look, but just because the newer models look sportier and more streamlined. The car is very spacious and comfortable in the front. The back seat is rather awkward to sit in, it has ok foot room but it's just very flat. Trunk has an ok amount of room, it's a hatch back SUV but the middle seat doesn't move, and when it does fold down it doesn't fold flat, so it makes putting stuff in the car rather difficult. There are many blind spots on this car, that I really hate. The beams on the back end of the car are very wide and I've actually been in one accident in my life and it was because a pole was hidden behind the huge beams. It hasn't been in the shop th...
