I like many things about my Ford Explorer, especially the way it can climb a mountain. I have heard people say a lot of bad things about this vehicle's transmission. Since I have owned this SUV I have not had any issues with the transmission. The vehicle has only broken down completely once since I have owned it. That scenario was because the alternator went bad causing the vehicle to stall out. I just had it towed to my mechanic and I was rolling along again. This occurred 4 years ago , 8 years from the time of purchase. The vehicle has also maintained pretty much of it's natural luster although it has begun to rust in a few spots around the bottom. I can be pretty certain that this is pretty normal for a vehicle that is twelve years old. Once I run it through my local car wash it looks as good as new. The engine which is a V6 3.8 Liter still runs like it's brand new. I make sure to change the oil every 3000 miles and it has really paid off in large dividends. The only downside to any issues is that I have noticed a slight oil leak the last couple of months.

This vehicle has plenty of leg room. It also has 3 rows of seats. The 2 row of back seats fold down for hauling items. I usually keep that row down unless I have more passengers. The first row of back seats also fold down. There were many colors to choose from, but I like the blue. I like the way it handles on ice and snow. The driver's seat moves easy and can be adjusted for each driver by moving it yourself.
