Amazing SUV for large families.
This car has a great build for terrain with snow. It has a great fwd that can be turned on and off manually. It has the option to do automatic or manual transmission. The car has driven over 100,000 miles without any issues. This is amazing for a vehicle that is used as often as mine. I am a home health nurse and am stop and go driving for hours on end, everyday. The only work done was tires and scheduled maintenance. The interior looks good after all these years. No tearing or deterioration of the leather seats. The inside of this vehicle has enough room for a large family with multiple children. The third-row seating in this vehicle is spacious enough to fit grown adults, versus just small children. When the third-row seating is put down, the vehicle is large enough to fit a full-size washer or dryer. The ride is smooth, as is the steering. The V6 engine has enough power for the drivers looking for speed. This car is a great alternative to any parent that does not want to drive a minivan. There are some things that did not hold up in this vehicle. The radio system and GPS did not hold up and was not easy to navigate. After just a couple of years, the Bluetooth no longer functioned. The GPS was so slow and hard to type into the touchscreen that I did not use it at all. The vehicles WI-FI capability diminished over time. Also, the car was quite low to the ground, and the front fender was easily tore off. It made it difficult to park close enough to the parking curbs, as it would hit the fender. Also, over time, the seat heaters did not work as well as when first bought. Overall though, this vehicle is a great vehicle and exceeded my expectations, considering how many miles I put on it a day.

Ford Explorer : a great experience
I purchased my Ford Explorer with 130,000 miles on it, and it now has over 160,000 miles. It has been very reliable, which is important to me since the main driver of the vehicle is my wife when she drives around our two daughters. I also feel that the vehicle is safe and well built so that it would fair well in the even of a collision. I am a professional mechanic, and I find that this vehicle is relatively easy to work on, especially when compared to minivans. I have only had to replace one part since owning the vehicle (EGR valve which was approximately $130 and 20 minuet install time). I find the ride to be very comfortable and the handling to be very responsive and safe-feeling as well, especially for a vehicle that is 13 years old. The interior is of high quality and has minimal wear considering the use it sees. the seats, flooring and trim materials are all in great shape and have not ripped, faded or cracked. The power and throttle response are great, and I never have to worry when passing or merging onto the highway. I have even towed a small trailer with it, and the vehicle handled wonderfully. The suspension did not bottom out, and there was plenty of towing power. The main negative for the vehicle is the gas mileage. I average about 14 MPG which isn't great. However, for the safety my wife gets by driving a bigger vehicle, I consider it well worth it. Overall I have been impressed by my explorer and will probably be looking into getting another one for my next vehicle when she finally does wear out.

Poorly thought out and built
I have a 2002 ford Explorer XLH 4wd V6 it began as a good looking and performing vehicle. I really liked the size and performance. The power and towing package the was available were great options. Gas mileage was adequate for my needs. Color options on the lot were OK. I would have had to order one and wait for delivery if I wanted the blue model.
Over time the negatives started appearing. First the poor handling qualities of the suspension were quite noticeable under load. The tires have to be kept at exact or nearest 35lbs or it becomes very sloppy. Second there were several recalls on this vehicle with electrical and computer control of the 4wd system. Which at this point has not been working for over 3 years. Then the engine blew complete replacement. I have had to spend in upwards of 3k in repairs just to keep it running. Expect a $300 bill if you pull a wheel off for a repair per wheel. I have had to replace both rear springs as they completely cracked in two.
Just last week I had to replace the thermostat housing which cost $75 bucks for a $2 gasket since the gasket was not available on its own. Ford should be ashamed they ever let this truck roll off the line.

The selection of vehicles was amazing. They had up to date everything. Not just old cars that have sat foe months they had to get rid of quickly. I felt they were interested in my investment.

Excellent, hands-on service, helpful and very knowledgeable about their products. They worked with us on the final price and financing.
