Sturdy reliable.
The 2007 Ford Explorer V8 is an extremely reliable vehicle. With over 175,000 miles on it, mine is still going strong. The interior is very well designed, all buttons and gadgets are in the most convenient locations. The controls are easy to use and understand. The materials used on the interior are well chosen. The leather has held up very well over the last eight years, there has been very little fading, and the chrome accents are still intact. The automatic four wheel drive has never failed and has been a life saver in the rugged Pacific Northwest terrain. The V8 motor has that extra power needed when trying to navigate steep country roads, while still getting good gas mileage during the daily commute. My only major complaint about this vehicle is the huge blind spot. The way the middle row head rests are designed, they create a very large blind spot that is unavoidable due to the seats not being able to adjust out of the way.

The Ford Explorer is a reliable vehicle
The Ford Explorer is a largely reliable vehicle with great space and all-weather driving capabilities. I like the viewing angle relative to the road thanks to the higher seat, and the driverÕs door and middle partition are the perfect height for resting elbows on. I can drive the vehicle in a less-tiring position during the long trips out-of-state to visit my wifeÕs family. At one point the transmission fused together and the radiator burst due to poor maintenance by the original owner, but once fixed, the vehicle hasnÕt had any further issues. My Ford Explorer has several quirks with the A/C (heats up slowly), gear shift (doesnÕt fully lock into certain gears), back door (doesnÕt always unlock with the keyÕs button), and front hood (no longer stays up on its own). These quirks can be attributed to wear and tear, though, and are fixable for someone with the right skills.
