My explorer is an exceptional vehicle. There is virtually no road noise in this car and the seats are the most comfortable I have owned in a car. I am also very pleased with the profile of the car. It is a large vehicle and has a nice presence on the highway where I drive 104 miles every day. The explorer that I purchased does have the upgraded 20" wheels. I like the way they look, but it diminishes the gas mileage pretty severely. I am averaging 19 miles per gallon on the interstate. I purchased this car to make sure that I would not have any issues getting to and from work. The Explorer has a quick select for several different 4-wheel drive modes which is incredibly handy. I have not had a chance to try it out in winter weather, but I had to use it in wet off-road conditions and was ... (more)
Story
I enjoy using it to haul the kayaks around. We spend a lot of time out side and this vehicle makes it possible. I am able to haul our bikes kayaks and any other gear that is needed. It also did come with the tow package so when I have the monkey I extend to purchase a small trailer so we can start hauling more gear for longer trips. I also use the explorer on our farm and with a trailer I will... (more)
Pros
I love the look of the vehicle. It drives very smoothly. It is extremely quite inside. The sound system is rather impressive. The vehicle is also very comfortable to ride in for extended periods of time. I also like the variety of USB and power plugs that are available.
Cons
The down side to this vehicle is defiantly the gas mileage. Unfortunately I was not able to afford the newer high performance motor so I get drastically worse gas mileage. I am also a little disappointed with the workability of the vehicle. Even having the 20" rims in it the car still sits rather low to the ground. This makes it difficult to do simple tasks like changing lights and oil.

Previously owning a Ford Edge, when it came time for another car, Ford was first on our list to test drive. We love that it has three rows and can fit my daughter's friends in the car with us. It has a V6 engine so has great pick up and drives more like a truck than most other SUVs we test drove. All of the seats fold down flat so we can transport large items, and the tow package insures if we have to pull a trailer, we can. On top of performance, the technology inside is excellent and keeps up with our demand by offering Bluetooth to stream music, connecting our phone, and the kids being able to watch DVDs in the car.
Story
Driving at night in the summer with the windows, sunroof and moon roof down and looking at the stars while smelling the summer air.
Pros
The technology package is excellent. We can customize the interior lights and pick the color, which makes it look very expensive. With Bluetooth, I can stream Amazon Music (or whatever I'm listening to) without my phone being plugged in. The moon roof in the back makes the car seem more open. I feel my kids are very safe riding in the car, and although it is large, they can still get in and out themselves.
Cons
The pearl white color is beautiful, but if scratched through the paint, shows the dark color underneath. I wish the gas mileage was a bit better, but all of the perks of the car makes up for it.

The car dealers were not constantly over your shoulder. They allowed you to make your own decisions and were open to negotiation.
