Ford Focus Owner Ratings & Reviews

2012 Ford Focus - A reliable, sturdy car
I have driven my Ford Focus for about 125,000 miles now. The Focus has very great gas mileage, and I only have to fill up about 1.5-2 weeks. It's sturdy, it has great handling, and feels kind of speedy/sporty, but it does not have the best traction or transmission. The car is not the most masculine or sporty looking, but it's a very nice beginner and affordable car for owners on a budget. It has a nice, red, sporty look despite being a more feminine looking car, and it is quite reliable and has never broken down. Even the tires have taken a few nails and never needed replacing and never lost air that much. Any car will have its problems, but this car definitely does not have very many. A good car for budgets, road trips, reliability, practicality and performance. Little-to-no issues ov... (more)
Story
Testing how fast the car could reach 0-60 on some country roads and doing a donut once—totally worth it.
Pros
It is very easy to handle and is very good at taking corners and having good gas mileage, especially if you put cruise control on. I also enjoy how quiet the car is, even when accelerating, and it's not super loud when I have my windows down. I did not experience many issues when using this car due to its high reliability. It's quite fast for what it is, and it's roomy for being so little and is definitely comfy to sit in for super long hours, like when I drove down to NC and did the whole thing with no problems thanks to the seats. It is a nice college car to have, and one thing I liked a... (more)
Cons
There are two downsides to this car that are prominent, in my opinion. One, the transmission is very jittery. For example, when I am accelerating, if I do not put enough pressure on the gas, the car will stutter and grind a little. Another problem is when it gets rainy or snowy, the car will struggle with grip and traction on the road and is prone to being kind of slippery on the road. There were a lot of recalls for the transmission on the car for some reason, but that was really the only major problem I had a qualm with. One last problem was with the aux input, it just never worked for w... (more)
1999 Ford Focus - American Made
This car was a very good car during the first couple years I owned it. Gas always seemed to stretch further in my car than any other. For the first two years, I didn't have any problems starting the car, and it never left me stranded. There wasn't very much storage space, and often times I felt cramped. There was a strange noise that came from the engine area during the later years that I owned it. The gas and brakes were just perfect, being neither too touchy or not touchy enough. The steering was good enough for me. I have a weak shoulder, so its important steering be pretty easy on me. My friend, who had a very bad back, found the car to be as comfortable as I did. During its last years of life, however, I found the car was very expensive to maintain. It was always something new and... (more)
Story
I recall one time when I was taking my nephews to the zoo, in another state. I had actually set this up with their mother. She called in school for them, and it was a surprise from day one. We all piled in the Focus and took off on a long journey. There was some bad weather we drove through. The steering was very good, and the tires had excellent grip. I could hardly see because it was r... (more)
Pros
There was a lot of good to this car. It was initially bought for me to get back and forth to class, and around town. I live out in the country, so having a car was a need. I found that this car was very comfortable, and reliable. Even my good friend with a bad back was comfortable in my car, which was a big bonus because I spent a lot of time with her back when I was young. This car was most excellent on gas, as I would take it to events and outings with my friends. When we had to drive far away, everyone would vote to use my car since it was so good on gas and comfortable. I thought it ha... (more)
Cons
After a couple years, I found this car seemed to fall apart at the seams. First of all, let me express to you how little space I found there to be. Grocery shopping was never fun, and although my car was good on gas - it had the space issue. So when my friends and I would go on road trips, we never had much room at all for our belongings. After about two or three years, it seemed like I was putting the car in the shop for something new almost every weekend. It got to the point where I was paying over 400 a month just to get the car fixed. I took really good car of the car when I had it, bu... (more)

2007 Ford Focus - Montrose Ford Of Fairlawn
When I bought my car at Montrose, I didn't feel pressured. The salesman patiently worked with me and my limited budget and put me into a car that was within my budget and better than I expected I would be able to afford. A few minor flaws with the vehicle were ironed out for me before I picked up the keys. The car has been wonderful ever since, needing no significant repairs or service. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Montrose Ford.
2009 Ford E-150 - Ricart Ford Groveport
People gets upset with the salesman, and they are as blatantly greasy as they come, but they do that for a reason, some people love being coerced into opinions they already had. The majority of the rest that are annoyed for the most part just shrug it off. What really makes this place so great is the unbeatable selection of cars and types, plus low predictable, if unspectacular prices, where you can be sure the vehicle is in tip top shape.
