The 2012 Ford Focus provides a comfortable ride for the driver. It is an especially good daily driver as it has been low maintenance and the gas mileage is about 36 mpg city. I have reached 45 mpg highway miles. It maneuvers well with a fairly small turning radius that provides ease of parking in smaller lots and difficult areas. The Flex Fuel option on this vehicle provides the ability to get increased mileage from fuels containing ethanol. The Focus has plenty of safety features, including side airbags, and hands free Bluetooth smart phone features. It also has a fully featured maintenance warning system, including a low tire alarm that provides notification of a low tire before it becomes a problem. Car is small and has little luggage space. It drags down at times and has shifting issues which have caused Ford to extend the warranty to 100,000 miles on the transmission system. Passenger space is a bit uncomfortable. The accessory plug is oddly placed requiring the user to open the console in order to insert or remove the plug in. The cup holders, also in this area, are a bit difficult to reach and are not quite large enough if there are two passengers in the car. Trunk space is minimal although the back seats do fold down for extra cargo area. It does not meet my personal requirements for space. The arms that move the trunk up and down, are placed poorly and make it difficult to put items near the edges of the trunk. This vehicle does not have openings to secure tie down straps. While it is a four-door sedan, there are times when it is necessary to place items on the roof. It is virtually impossible to do so in this vehicle.

I bought this car used nearly four years ago. It was already an older car when I purchased it. I needed to downsize due to retiring from my job. It took a while to find it. When I saw it in the parking lot at the car dealership, it stood out. It was bright yellow and cute as can be for an older middle-aged woman. As noted earlier, I have owned it for nearly four years and only put new tires on it. It does have a little miss in it now, and I think I'm going to need to replace the wheel bushings soon. But you know that is routine maintenance items. It rides a little rougher that a plush mid-size car. I guess that's because of the small wheel base. I have gotten used to it. Two of the air conditioner vents fell off. I haven't had them replaced yet. I will soon. The air conditioner is now starting to run inefficiently. I think I need to put some Freon in. I now have over 120,000 miles on it, and it's still in there kicking. If I had to pick another small-size vehicle in the future, the Ford Focus will be the first one I will consider.
