2012 Ford Focus - Ford reliability
I purchased a Ford Focus in 2012 after 14 years of owning higher-end foreign sedans. I absolutely love my Focus; it gets great gas mileage. It's a fun car to drive. The only downside I've experienced in 5 years of ownership is it doesn't handle too well in the snow.
Story
Realizing the truck was smaller than my last car, and after purchasing a book shelf, I had to make my friend lay down on top of the bookshelf in the back seat.
Pros
This car gets great gas mileage, which is always a focus of mine when researching a new car. This car was also listed in Kelly Blue Book as being one of the most affordable cars to own with the least amount of expense in repairs and maintenance. In 5 years, I have not had a single issue with my car. In 14 years of owning foreign sedans, I had more issues than I can remember, some which required waiting for parts to arrive from Europe.
Cons
This model of the Focus does not come with a lot of technology you see in newer cars. It does not have an aux input or Bluetooth capability, so listening to anything from my phone is, unfortunately, out of the question.
2011 Ford Focus - Fuel efficient and reliable.
I guess I am not too big on the styling on this model, but it's ok. If I got it over again, I would probably of upgraded to a moon roof with extra sport options. Other than that, it is compact/midsize, and fits everything and comfy. The same time it is quite fuel efficient, which works for me because I live a half hour from work.
Story
Not any yet. It has over 65,000 miles on it so far. I didn't have the car for a year, and someone ran into it in the parking lot. It was just a scuff. A few months later I rear ended someone, but it didn't leave much of a mark either.
Pros
I think the pros are that I got it because I was living an hour and a half from work at the time. So far it has done well. I've only had to take it in for routine maintenance, such as oil changes and the like. Right now I live a half hour from work, and it does well on fuel efficiency. It gets in the 30's, and at one time it was at 40 mpg. I have blue and I love the color I got. My second preference was black.
Cons
I guess there aren't too many cons for me about this car yet, I haven't had any issues with it. I know there have been some recalls on a year older model of this car. I didn't have any issue yet. The styling of the car isn't my favorite, but it isn't bad either.
