Ford Focus Owner Ratings & Reviews

2013 Ford Focus - Simple and efficient
The 2013 Ford Focus is a simple yet efficient vehicle with variety of pros and cons that will be quickly discussed in this short review. The Ford Focus I purchased in May of 2017 was a used 2013 SE hatchback model with 79,500 miles at the time of purchase. This vehicle is silver with a black leather interior and has a five-speed manual with a 2.0 liter engine. I would say that I really enjoy this car because when I initially bought it, I was looking for a smaller vehicle that achieves decent gas mileage but also had a durable transmission and a reliable engine. The 2010's models of Ford Focuses are known to have transmission problems, so this is why I went with a five-speed manual transmission. The quality of interior in this car seems to be good and doesn't have that overly plastic fe... (more)
Story
Taking this vehicle on road trips; so far, it has been reliable and comfortable on trips.
Pros
The pros to this vehicle are the gas mileage, interior space, and features for the overall price. The gas mileage all depends on the person that is driving, but I seem to average around 32.2 MPGs per gallon, which isn't great compared to hybrids and diesel vehicles, but seems decent enough for an American economy car. The interior space for this vehicle is very roomy for the driver and passenger aspects. The seats in the back fold down to add more room if bigger items are placed in the trunk and more room is needed. This vehicle models come with Ford Sync, which is an electronic display th... (more)
Cons
The negative item or complaints that I have with this car are with the rims and just general maintenance with the vehicle. The issue I have with the rims is that the dark silver coating on the rims seems to be coming off even though the car is around five years old now. The issue I have with the maintenance of the vehicle is how certain items, like the air filter box, are located in hard to reach places.
2009 Ford Focus - Amazing, basic, reliable car
My Ford Focus is a great vehicle. It has had no major problems over the eight years I have driven it. It is a very basic car - no fancy bells and whistles - and that is just the way I like it. I love the air temperature control. It is a color-coded dial with blue on one side and red on the other. This makes fine-tuning my ideal temperature easy and efficient. My Ford Focus has never made strange noises or had problems with operation. I haven't needed any crazy expensive repairs, which is great. It is a smooth drive and handles well.
Story
My most memorable times in my car are coming home on the weekends from college. It was a 1.5 hour drive. I love driving alone, singing along to my favorite songs on the stereo.
Pros
My 2009 Ford Focus has great gas mileage - especially on freeways. It's great minimizing trips to the gas station. I love the MP3 plug for listening to my iPod while driving instead of the radio with commercials. It also came with Sirius satellite radio built in. While I am not a subscriber, there are occasional free listening events I love taking advantage of.
Cons
One thing I don't like about the car is it does not have four-wheel drive. Driving in the winter snow and ice, having four-wheel drive would be a huge advantage. Additionally, this car is not equipped with a back-up camera, another feature that would be quite beneficial. One small problem I have with the car is the mat in the trunk shifts while driving, and small object could fall down into the spare tire area. Also, it seems as though the horn is quieter than other cars, which could be an issue in emergency situations.
